That’s exactly the point. If you get the show, you’d understand. You don’t, so why are you asking?

To get the show, you need to get the roles. Dan is the real life straight man / douche bag, who’s fat mass provides the orbit for the magic to happen. Stugotz, played by Jon Weiner, is a Seinfeldian shtick. And the “shipping container” fill the complimentary roles.
It’s a parody of sports radio show that’s also a sports radio show. I too turn it off when it gets to political, but it can be radio gold at times.
Exactly. Dan is the sun in which everything orbits. The show just isn't as good when he isn't there.

if you listen to some of their first broadcasts when they only had the local show, which i believe are on youtube, its a weird listen. stugotz plays the straight role and dan plays the stugotz foil. its weird

I used to write it off pretty much as OP described but once I listened to it and “got it” it’s my favorite national show. I usually laugh most of the show.

im not a fan but this is laughable
i don't get how people listen to straight sport-o talk

Stephen A when focused can be amazing. His work in Philly was incredible. His 2nd stint at ESPN has turned him into a shock journalist. He and Bayless were incredible writers who fell into the Lupica/Ryan/Jacke trap thinking their voices are the only one that matters.
Mike Lupica and Bob Ryan destroyed the sports media/editorial profession.

Glad that Houston has enough talent to not have any national shows to deal with

His Miami championship/playoff rants were epic. This never gets old.

Lebatard Championship Rant against the Spurs

Lebatard feels sports is beneath him, he also thinks the folks that pay for his show are beneath too him cause he refuses to do reads and makes Stugots or whoever the hell do all the reads.
But he'll I'd rather hear that than their sports takes cause inevitably Lebetard will veer off and go hard SJW on the few occasions they do start addressing sports.

Chris Cote on Twitter just announced that he was a victim of the recent mass ESPN layoffs.

Lebby is really big on family, and he's even said a few times(if I recall) things like either he would have quit or made very different decisions like not going national but made some of those decisions specifically based on what he felt was best for the dudes on his team.
I wonder how he's going to take this and what he may do as a result.
