Lebetard show is the "Walton and Johnson" of sports radio.

Some love it, some hate it, a lot of people don't get it, and it's pretty controversial. W&J leans right and Lebetard leans left, but the same issues are there.

I think it's an accurate analogy. At some point both began to think their chosen profession was beneath them...one shock jock and the other sports talk...they IMHO felt they were above those respective stations.

Of course both turned their shows toward politics...W&J to a larger extent..but when Lebatard goes there he goes deep an hard. Neither make any attempt whatsoever at subjectivity, accuracy or fairness...but that's pretty much all of journalism today.

Not a big fan of either. Liked W&J before the political turn, I thought they were funny then. Not so much afterward.

Lebetard I think his show can be funny sometimes, I change it when he goes politics, and I really do think he not so subtly gives the heir that sports is beneath him now and those who do only sports are idiots and therein he is not. That bothers me a bit but when you get on a national stage egos often take over.

It’s more about optics and his loyalty than anything. A break up will come soon and Sirius or whomever picks them up will pay Cote’s salary.

Plus, Dan makes $3 million. I think he’ll be OK

Every other sports radio show has the dry, cliche laden takes you are pining for. Lebatard, while he gets too political and bleeding heart for me sometimes, is so much more entertaining and creative than any other national shoe.and it's why they have the largest audience.

I was an loyal listener for years going back to his 790 the ticket days here in south florida. But his "I told you so, white people" gloating after George Floyd was just too much for me to handle. I haven't listened since.

That being said they are funny and entertaining and i will turn them off when he gets politically unstable. I also turn him off if Jamal Hill , Pabblow Torre, Blowmany Jones and the new coach of the pelicans come on.

These things are never as catchy or comical as the poster believes.

Maybe watching it on tv is different, but it just sounds like inside jokes.

Show was a lot better when it was just south Florida.
