I guess he realized he won’t have any show material if he can’t complain about Trump the whole show.

Dan and Stu both get along with Simmons

ESPN budget cuts often result in high profile guys getting let go (or not renewed) when they get too expensive

But the thing is Dan is at his best when they are all having fun and making fun of how serious people take sports. That is the best version of the Lebatard show.

I think Mike Ryan and, to an extent, Dan know this and won't change the formula too much.

Sure, you'll still get the random Dan virtue-signaling, but the majority of the people who download their show don't want that. Mike Ryan will keep him in check.

He can live his dream doing social justice podcasts with Jamel Hill or whatever her name is. Even ESPN was too stifling for him. Now he can cut fully loose.

It's pretty easy to pick out the people who don't actually listen to the show.

Say what you will, but very few people have the balls to do what he did for Chris Cote.

Yeah I don’t listen because every time I tune in he’s crying about some SJW topic. His show was awesome a decade ago.

His show is great, the only thing they need to get rid of is Dan and his dad. Everyone else is great. They don’t take anything or anyone seriously. It’s basically if Wayne’s World was a bunch of doofuses doing a sports radio show in a tropical city.

The real question here is does Dan's dad still have a job at ESPN.

Hopefully 104.5 drops the ESPN label and just switches to local only sports talk. I don’t need to hear the Bomani jokes show or whatever garbage will replace Dan

No, they fired Greg Cote's son Chris who had been a producer on his show for 8 years, and they did so without telling him (Dan) or collaborating with him (potentially negotiating salary cuts to prevent personnel losses) in any way beforehand. He and the entire show found that extremely disrespectful, far more than the actual decision.

He hired Chris on as his personal assistant at his own expense to keep him employed.
