Sooooo what’s the big deal here? Dead serious I’m not seeing what y’all are seeing as far as Lebron fricking over this franchise.

If they didn't pull that bullshite move, and AD requested a trade this offseason the situation could've ended up much better for them. There are rumors (unsubstantiated but multiple people have spoken about it), that the Pels aren't dealing with the Lakers regarding AD this offseason due to how the trade demand was handled during the season.

There are also rumors that the Pels don't really like the Lakers assets, so that may not even matter.

Giannis didn’t make the finals with a team twice as good as what Lebron had last season.

And he didn’t do much when the East was worse than what it was now as far as playoff success

At this point it doesn’t matter, does it?

Hell I rather AD be traded somewhere he doesn’t want to be and sign with L.A. the next season than a trade be made.

Wasn’t that the plan anyways? Try to push through a chaotic trade right quick and if it doesn’t work then start making arrangements for the next 2 seasons?

If they got AD like they attempted, then good. If not, nothing hurt. These young guys aren’t the answer.

both this raps sqaud and this bucks squad woulda blasted the last cavs team. we are talking a cavs team who went to 7 with the pacers. heck the 6ers prob better than that cavs too.

Well of course they’re better.

But the Cavs had Lebron.

This hypothetical L is so consistent with your takes on the Rockets hypothetical rings.

How good at basketball do you think Giannis is? How far above Giannis do you have Lebron? Giannis didn’t make the finals with a team twice as good as what Lebron had last season

Twice as good? Much like the early Cavs teams with Lebron from 07-09, this bucks team was only good because of the system around Giannis. When everything is clicking, they’re really really good. When Giannis can’t get inside of the paint because of the soft zone they’re playing on him, they’re very beatable against other contenders.

Much like young Lebron, Giannis will only learn from this.

The problem with this is that in order to accomplish this you have to throw away another offseason (and season), or you won't have cap space to sign AD in the 2020 offseason. LeBron signed a 4 year deal, do you want to waste 2 of those years? He'll be 36 years old in the 20-21 season.

This is becoming a movie at this point. Or at least a solid 30 for 30.

One thing I don't get is how this story is kinda blaming Lebron and Rich Paul for the Lakers dysfunction when Lakers have been a hot mess for about 5 years now.

This thread is a whole lot of people rationalizing new info into their preconceived black or white opinions while refusing to admit there is some grey involved.

In other words your basic internet argument.

The media focus on the team thanks to LeBron and Rich Paul, plus their bullshite, has made people look closer at the dumpster fire there.

The failed AD trade talks are going to be a pivotal moment in Laker history because it helped expose exactly how dysfunctional the team is at all levels despite Jeannie Buss’ insistence in “Laker exceptionalism”.

As someone said earlier in this thread (or maybe another LeBron centric thread), throwing gasoline on a fire doesn't make it die down.
