He needs to research Eric Crouch and see what a short fast QB does in the NFL.

Them being short and fast are the only two similarities they share. Murray is 10x the passing QB Crouch ever was, which is why Crouch was drafted as a wide receiver. He then converted to safety in NFL Europe. He didn't play a professional snap at QB until 5 years later in the CFL.

Is he tho? Murray relies heavily on his legs to open up a D. He won't have that in the NFL.

Dude is making a huge mistake. Way more money to be made in MLB with less wear and tear on your body.

Taking snaps from under center is retarded and pointless. Yes let's make our QB run backwards 3-5 steps for no reason when he can already be going through his reads and getting the ball out. Pure genius...

Both Super Bowl teams were ranked #1 and #3 in under center percentage so maybe it’s not so pointless

And for the Rams deniers, the Saints were at 51%, ranking #4 in the league

Yes, double down on your stupidity you dumb frick.

Taking snaps from under center is pointless and outdated. There's no offense you can't run from the pistol OR the shotgun. Get with the program.

As long as the short passing game of the west coast offense remains a staple in all NFL offenses, taking snaps from under center will always be a major part of NFL offenses.

The steps in a drop back are timing mechanisms that sync up the passing routes. The top of the drop whether its 3-5-8 steps tells the QB when the receiver should be at the top of his route & when to throw the ball.

quote:

The West Coast offense synchronizes the number of steps the quarterback takes to the patterns the receivers are running. The key is it is all about timing.

quote:

Walsh once made an instructional video for quarterbacks. In this video, he discusses the various steps the quarterback takes in the West Coast offense. Listening to his instructions is almost poetic as if classical music could be played while the quarterback goes through the steps.

Three quick steps

Three big steps

Five quick, open, throw

Five big, hitch, throw

Three big, Four quick, bounce, throw

Three big, Four quick, hitch-step, hitch-step, throw

LINK

How about you do some research yourself about football so you can stop spewing out retarded shite like it's some sort of actual facts.

Dude is gonna take a big lick from a lineman and instantly regret his decision. The only thing that may save him is all of the rules being put in place to protect QB’s

Fair enough. Your link also clearly shows he throws from the shotgun 86% of the time.

Meaning out of shotgun snaps, 86% are passes.....

Not really sure what that has to do with anything you’ve talked about.

I think he made the right choice but something like 65-70% of first rounders make the majors. Whether he would last past 3-4 years and then get a non arb contract is the bigger question, he will almost definitely do that in the NFL

what if he researched doug flutie? he was short....also crouch was in a frickn option offense. lol he had like 1000passn yds a season

Doug Flutie

If Flutie is the best he can hope to be then, its time to pick up the bat.

TDS 86
INT 68
YDS 14,715
RTG 76.3

Divide those number by 12 years and they are poor.
7.2 TDs/ Year
5.6 ints/ Year
1227 Yards/Year.

Not exactly 1st rounder numbers. If you divide those numbers by the years he played more than 11 games per year you only get 5 years of that and this is what you get. Respectable but again, not worth a 1st rounder that people think Murry will be.

17.2 tds / year
13.6 ints /year
2943 yards / year.

Let’s say he owes $6 million to the A’s. If he’s a 3rd or 4th round pick, he’s not going to make enough to pay that back any time soon.

He could just use the $6 million in his bank account to pay them back.

Kyler Murray decides to be an NFL QB

Succeeded wildly at every level, winners intangibles, leader of men, incredibly athletic and dynamic, rocket arm, great accuracy, NFL teams are incorporating the Lincoln Riley Air Raid offense with QBs like Mayfield and Mahomes, Kysman's got the sauce to succeed in this league have all the confidence in the world in him

Read this thread. There are retards talking about how Kyler will struggle with three step drops. Even Brady doesn't do three step drops, because it's fricking pointless. Kyler is twice as athletic as Tom Brady. People think he can't run backwards for 3 steps?

Yes, he is. Crouch's most successful season passing was his Heisman trophy season where he threw for 1500 yards, completed 55% of his passes, and threw for 7 TDs compared to 10 INTs. He was an option QB. There is a huge difference between an option QB and a dual-threat QB like Murray. They just aren't comparable players.
