He's not wrong. Go back and watch the Herbert footage against Cal. Dude has a lot of "yikes" throws.

I agree with Herbert not looking like a leader. It’s a trait I’ve ragged on Mariota and Herbert both for years now. But I mark the screen passes up to having our best 4 WRs out for half the season, and losing our only other threat passing in Breeland early as well.

We just worked with what we had.

Yea, I think Herbert is fools gold. What makes him different than all these other supposedly great Oregon QBs?

What makes any of those QBs the same besides their Oregon uniforms?

Too bad they didn’t hire Joe Brady, he would have won the Heisman and had the best season ever amirite

If screen passes were so easy to complete, Les Miles would have had our shitty QB's running them all those years

Oh wait

That was a great video though. Lots of passes last season where I didn’t know wtf he was doing. Also gives me a reason for why we went so conservative vs Auburn. Wish we keep at it and didn’t, but at least now I see why.

He was dogshite in the Rose Bowl win except for his read option rushing...and Oregon created 3 turnovers that gave him short fields.

He was 14 of 20 for 138 yards passing.

In the Pac-12 title game he was 14 of 26 for 193 yards.

His 32 TDs and 6 Ints is a mirage. He's not an NFL QB.

Herbert is criminally overrated. Watched him play multiple times last year.

I would never take a top 5 draft position QB out of Oregon. They all end up much less than expected in the nfl.

Yes, his two biggest games of his career.

That's fair to analyze does he have the right stuff.

And in one of those big games he dug deep and won with his rushing ability, right?

i love when people think its a certain college. We heard "never take a Texas Tech" QB when Mahomes was coming out. Of course the last QB taken in the first round from LSU was JaMarcus so maybe "We should never take an LSU QB #1"

If Tua can be praised for dink passes, so can Herbert.

Except as already posted:

4.3% of Tuas 5 to 28 yard passes to open receivers were uncatchable. 18% of Herberts were uncatchable.

Tua gets a bunch of shite for throwing a bunch of 5 yard slants that turn into big plays because he has stud WRs.

Herbert struggles to even complete a 5 yard slant.

@PFF_Mike

The one stat that would terrify me if I'm considering draft Justin Herbert or Jordan Love is this... % of uncatchably off-target throws targeting when an OPEN receiver 5-18 yards downfield in 2019:

Tua 4.3%
Hurts 5.0%
Burrow 5.1%
Love 14.1%
Herbert 18.1%

Yikes

I've mentioned this before...Wife has a lot of family that are alums. The word is he likes football, he doesn't love it. I'd probably stay away from this one.

My favorite Herbert thing that keeps getting thrown around is his Senior Bowl MVP. 9-12, 83 yards, 1 TD.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?????
