Sherba reported Kobe was on his way to his Mamba Kids Camp. It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that one or more daughters would be on board. This is terrible if true

Hope for his wife’s sake that the daughters thing isn’t true. Hopefully not all 4 for sure, but hopefully none

I remember the airball jumpers vs Utah when he was a rookie in the playoffs. and the alley oop to Shaq in 00 vs the Blazers. and just all kinds of stuff. this is nuts.

I cut my basketball teeth on those late 90’s Lakers before the chips started coming in.
I was a little kid when the Utah airballs happened and still remember them vividly.

Shaq walked off the court with his arm around young Kobe and told him “one day, people are going to fear you in these moments. Watch and see.”

Not exactly sure why, but this news has me shook. More so than previous tragic incidents with celebrities or even the Carly McCord tragedy involving our LSU brethren. I'm guessing just for the fact that Kobe Bryant is a legend. Sad.

Not only a legend but someone who seemed to be destined to still accomplish great things. The guy was young (41) and was not only an NBA legend but an Oscar winner. His NBA commentary and breakdown videos were great. Not sure what his plans were, but whatever he was wanting to accomplish in life was going to be spectacular.

Kobe's also been a staple of my life since I was a kid.

This has me messed up.

Irresponsible for media outlets to speculate about who else was on the plane. Get the info or don’t say anything. The stakes are too high here in this tragedy.

Any chance the NBA moves/postpones games that are scheduled for today?

NBA about to have some of their best regular season ratings ever. They arent gonna move anything.

ETA: well nevermind, the nba does have a soul after all.

That's one of those things that the guy shouldn't have even spoke of unless he was 110% sure.

Exactly. You don’t just spout off with things like this

Seems like Rick and Kobe are confirmed, I really hope the other two weren’t his daughters...

This was sad enough just with the Kobe news and then rumors about his daughter started. Hope none of them were on there too.

I’m so sad now.

His family wasn't on board...

Sources have confirmed that neither #Bryant’s wife or children were on board of the helicopter that crashed.
