How is that?

he can leave after 1 year

if he doesn't, then he gets the next notch of the max and kills their potential cap room next hear if he does

The league attempted to stretch out the cap increase to prevent this from happening, the union said no because just about every player will see free agency in this window.

So yes, in theory, you can blame the players.

OKC literally hit a peak level against SA and that kept up through GS and they STILL couldn't win it all

GS is just too good

this logic just sucks. but whatever.

I'm surprised the melt by OKC fans isn't that bad. I guess most of them were expecting him to leave. LINK

Of course he can do whats ever best for him. People get salty about it because we want our superstars to be alpha dogs who lead a team not guys who run to one of the greatest teams ever to chase a ring at such a young age. I figured this decision was going to be about three things. Loyalty to OKC which is strong but doesn't really mean much. Creating a legacy in Boston. He would have been a god there if he could have taken them to multiple titles. Or championships in GS.

GS is probably the surest bet so I guess that's what he valued more. Just makes him look like a follower and not a leader to a lot of people. People love leaders. They don't love followers. Especially in sports.

KD was signing a 1+1 deal regardless of the team.

And every team is the league would be willing to sign him to that contract.

So this wasn't shocking or unexpected

@WojVerticalNBA
Draymond's been relentless recruiting Durant this season. Made him feel needed. After 3-1 comeback vs OKC, Green went right back at him.

It's just the truth bro. Lebron didn't show anyone how to beat a healthy Warriors that's damn sure. Good for him on what he did but you gotta be realistic.
