The tornado thing I guess is somewhat valid but the Dallas area gets a shite ton of tornadoes too (probably more than KC) and they’ve done just fine.

Imagine being so retarded that you think people from 30 miles down the road are vastly different, even though 90% of the nation finds the entire geographic swath wholly irrelevant and filled with dipshits.

Yea like I said I’d rather the owners use their own money still but this is about as good as it gets for publicly funded stadiums it seems.

Aren't they contributing a billion?

LOL. Those Hunt's sho is poor. Just last week, they were seen down at the Salvation Army in the soup line.

IDK care one way or another what KC does BUT for multi-billionaires to go begging to the taxpayers for hundreds of millions of $$$ is nearly criminal.

I am still miffed about us, the taxpayers of Louisiana, giving the NO Saints mega OT $$$ to stay in New Orleans.

As someone who has lived on both sides of the state line over the last 30 years. I don't get the angst. It isn't like they moved to Nashville. It's literally 30 minutes west. It's still in the KC Metro. No different than when the Cowboys moved from Irving to Arlington.

Yeah but you aren’t a grown man with the emotions of a whiny teenage girl so there’s that.

Sounds like it’s going to be a gross dome stadium
Another huge indoor stadium with more suites than seats.

Gonna assume some state or municipality will foot the majority of the bill for their new stadium.

God forbid these billionaire owners pay for their own shite.

Clark Hunt stated he was doing this new domed stadiums for the fans, it wasn't the $2 billion from KS.

I guess Clark ignored the polls conducted over the past 2 years have shown overwhelmingly, 70% of Chiefs fans wanted to keep Arrowhead and make it a football only destination.

Well I was wrong thinking the Hunt's would drag this out longer to get both sides to keep upping their offers. Anyway I blame the Hunt's but also the KC mayor and Jackson County officials for failing to improve the area around Truman complex for YEARS and YEARS. Once Mahomes retires I'll be done with the Chiefs. I know a lot of KCMO people don't care what side of the state line the team plays....I do and so do a lot of other people. I'm not a huge baseball fan so I care a lot less about what the Royals do.

When the Chiefs were sucking arse for nearly 20 years from the mid 70's through late 80's it was the largely the locals that lived around the stadium attending. There were games with fewer than 20K people and the vast majority of those fans were locals called the Camaro Head fans because they were all blue collar, beer drinking, 4 wheel trucks and hot rod driving local rednecks.

I think Clark Hunt has underestimated the number of diehard Chiefs fans from MO who feel like they were totally ignored and under appreciated for their loyalty through good and bad. I also don't think Clark Hunt understands the dislike between MO and KS......he's fixin to find out.

Kansas vs Missouri is an underrated state v state rivalry

I like rivalries that actually mean something. Kansas and Missouri fought a fricking war 170 years ago and still hate each other today. So much better than rivalries of I don’t like you because you happen to be 30 miles away.

So on the flip side does this mean the Royals will get theirs in a couple years?

Appears so. I just can't stand when a person can stare into a camera and lie claiming this decision is for the fans. If Clark Hunt honestly believes the majority of fans wanted Arrowhead abandoned and torn down with a new stadium in KS....I have to call it like I see it, he's lying.

Polls over the past 2 years have shown fans at a 70% clip wanted to keep Arrowhead just like the folks in Green Bay decided to keep Lambeau Field and do a complete makeover while retaining the original bowl of the old stadium.

Of course he doesn't. Hes only up in KC for gamedays. He doesn't give a frick. None of these owners do.

Im not a Chiefs fan but I love Arrowhead and Kaufman. Ive see my Jets snd Mets play there numerous times. Arrowhead is probably my favorite NFL stadium. Now theyre getting an ugly sterile dome where weather won't matter.

Dumb. frick the Hunts

So disgusting that the KC Chiefs and Chicago Bears would play in a dome

Lions and Vikings games in December / January are just not the same as they were in the 60's/70's. It truly is great to watch those outdoor games in the elements in Buffalo/Cleveland/Pitt/Philly/NY/GB/Denver/KC. It's a shame that everything has gone to domes for the stupid arse stupor bowl.

I’m glad the border war between KU and Mizzou is picking up steam again. Those two schools actually fricking hate each other. KU and K State is oddly civil.

It's a story as old as George Jefferson's two broke brothers being jealous when George moved on up.

As for the Chiefs... For every fan who laughed at Kroenke moving the Rams out of St. Louis: Enjoy kansas.

A lot of fans are rightly pissed off at Hunt but it took the combined incompetence of KCMO mayor Quinton Lucas, Frank White and the Jackson County Sports Authority and to some degree the Republican governor and republican majority state legislature.....they all whiffed.

I honestly wonder if Clark Hunt wouldn't have made a better move by moving the team out of the area if he was just looking for a few billion to build a new stadium. There are a lot of cities around the US with much deeper pockets than the KC metro who would have offered $3-4 billion to Clark Hunt.
