If they say McCormack was stomping that one dude then I think he gets 6ish. DeSousa is probably kicked off the team so Self can save face.

Kstate sucks this year so I haven't really paid attention to any of their players in the fight

Only suspending him at this point is Kansas hoping they can push the rest under the rug.

if the K St player wants to try for a chicken shite steal and layup at the last second, Kansas has every right to block the shite out that shot and then flex on him

They go hand in hand IMO.

If you've got no problem with the block/flex, then I don't see a problem with the steal either. Play until the clock hits 0:00.

It wasn't called a foul because everyone wants to go home at that point, but De Sousa's body got into the KState player. Would have been a foul the other 39 minutes.

You say KSU player couldn't take the loss like a man, I say Kansas player couldn't take the steal like a man. De Sousa got shown up, so he wanted to return the favor. I don't have a problem with the steal, nor do I have a problem with the block.

As for this particular flex, it was too much. It's one thing to flex on a guy when you land, it's another thing to take 3 steps over to a guy on the sideline to do it. We see the former all the time, but the latter is clearly taunting. Of the 3 actions (steal/block/flex), I think the flex is worst.

Monmouth had a guy that stole the ball and dunked on Kansas earlier this year while down 55. Dude was laughed at, which is basically the response you should have here. De Sousa took it to another level.

that was mostly a shot at Scruffy for his "be a man" take in this thread

wouldn't the "manly" way be to go make a play after you just go beat?

I agree. He walked over to him and stood too long. KSU teammates have the right to pull him back in that situation.

Everything after that was pure nonsense.

, they're circular to me. Whatever the steal was (chickenshit, good hustle, whatever), then the block was both reciprocal and the same. I tend to think they're both the result of getting your feelings hurt.

not even close to me

I would have never went for that steal in that game

but if I was in the other position, and the guy stole it from me I was trying to dribble the game out, I would absolutely go to block his shot

And blocking the guy's shot was where returning the favor should have ended. Then, all of the talk after the game would have been about the clown who stole the ball then got his shite rejected.

Clearly.

Agreed.

Disagree. Like I said, I think they're born out of the same pride. The emotions that make you go for the steal/dunk are the same emotions that make you go for the block. I don't think it's a coincidence the guy who blocked it is the guy who lost the ball.

Regardless, it's all run of the mill stuff until the exaggerated flex.

of course its a pride thing

but the steal was more of a butthurt, pride thing and the block was more of a reactionary, pride thing IMO

silvio de sousa is a non factor for this year's kansas team.

david mccormack is potentially a fairly important factor, so that will be more interesting. marcus garrett is very important, but i think he's looking at a very minimal suspension here as he is kind of in the area of the main fight, but not really doing anything.

Suspensions being announced at 5pm.

Very excited for the totally reasonable and level-headed reaction to them.

I doubt Garret gets anything. And the further away from the fight we get without McCormack getting suspended the less harsh it will be

This is really all that needs to be said about how things started. Nothing before the flex moves the needle at all.
