It’s funny most of the people crying over HS football never attend games or pay attention to it at all.., just some more shite to cry about

There are a ton of people in this state that have kids that play sports that are being affected.

The two largest divisions in Texas are starting later because the cities are where their biggest COVID-19 concerns are.

Real high school football is played 1A-4A, luckily.

I’ll stop you right there. He won statewide as a governor. Why couldn’t he do so as a senator?

If this doesn't prove these decisions are political, I don't know what to tell you

How do "the states that touch LA" stats look compared to LA? At one point, we had the second or third worse stats in the country, per capita.

TX/MS/AR were not nearly as bad as LA.

For the past 2 week period, LA is 23rd in the country in cases per 100k residents

MS is 8
AR is 10
TX is 19

LA is still #1 in total cases per 100K going back to the start, but obviously people who were sick 6 months ago don't really factor into starting up football now. However, for all time

MS is 3
TX is 11
AR is 14

So it's not like those 3 states are miles apart and better than LA, and we are currently trending better than all 3

Louisiana has had "good" stats for well over a month now. He has no real reason, he's just a political shill.

I heard there is or was going to be an emergency LHSAA meeting tonight/tomorrow.

Apparently the AG has been telling schools and coaches the liability for COVID covered in ACT 9 does not go away if they play. Even if they thought it did, he said he has a army of lawyers ready to fight to protect them.

So here’s a question... under what we thought we were getting, we would have an 8 week regular season and 4 playoff rounds. Would an earlier start mean any more games than a total of 12? Would 12 be good enough for the #LetThemPlay crowd?

Are these rumors meant to guarantee HS football starts on October 8th?

I think it would. It's about letting these boys play. Personally outside of a dozen teams in both the select and non-select schools, no one really has a chance to win it all.

These kids especially these seniors just want to play. They see that the Governor and his advisors are treating this as a political stunt instead of a health issue.

We all know to protect the elderly by now. We know they are the ones at risk not these kids or their parents.

No idea about what the meeting is/was going to be about.

The starting date would just be solidified as October 8th. They still need a few weeks to practice full contact

Is there a database of high school sports attendees that you are using to base this opinion?
