I hate that excuse. It's hot everywhere in July and August. Hell, it gets up to 100 during the day up here in Chicago sometimes.

Yes...I'm aware of what AVERAGE means.

Then why are you making comments like

He had two or three years that exceeded that level.

Could be. He also started to hit better in loaded Bos&Tex lineups. Who knows

He did have some decent road splits in Seattle a few years

and.... he regresses in second half which is never good when you are trying to make a pennant run.... Hamilton over second half past 3 seasons has hit .304/.360/.553

yea it was pretty stark difference. I don't know why any hitter would want to play there.

Then again we are talking about Beltre so I guess it depends if he feels like playing that day.

He had 4 out of 7 seasons that exceed that, roughly half. Hence why his AVERAGE over his career is .350

Ian Kinsler is an average to slightly above average 2nd baseman offensively and defensively. He's been massively overrated his whole career, he is not one of the better 2nd baseman in the league. Now that he's probably going to have to play in the OF or 1st base he will be well below average offensively at his position, and probably defensively as well.

If you look at his stats he really hasn't improved at all since his rookie year and is now showing signs of declining.

Plus the way he half asses down the baseline annoys the crap out of me, but he's not the only one guilty of that

Kinsler to LF
Profar to 2B
Andrus to SS
FA/trade to CF?

Or

Deal one of Andrus/Profar for a OF

I don't know if bourn is the choice now for the rangers but his price has to be coming down some now doesn't it? Who's left besides the rangers who would be willing to pony up for him?

they will probably overpay for Bourn now to overcompensate.

Hell, they missed out on a chance to nab Mark Reynolds. One year, undisclosed terms from Cleveland? Man, that bat at first would have replaced Napoli perfectly and at no longterm commitment.

Seems to be the likely scenario

doubtful but it'd be Andrus and not Profar. They already probably will lose Andrus when his contracts up bc they're not going to want to pay him and think they can basically replace or even upgrade from him with Profar

Just thinking out loud, but they may try to trade for Mourneau. I think that would be an interesting move.

Just curious in the last 5 years or so, outside of

Cano
Pedroia
Utley

Who has been better at 2B then Kinsler? Maybe Phillips because of his defense? Uggla?
