they should be DQ'd like the rules say

the rule also says that the committee can decide to not DQ. right?

changed their mind because tiger admitted that he moved back to gain a competitive advantage.
just because he used the leeway they allow when dropping nearest his original shot to his advantage has no consequence IMO everyone who ever drops "nearest" their original shot will always drop left, right, or behind depending on what they prefer

rule 33 does, but they used the wrong rule. this is not an "HDTV" rule infraction. they used that "loophole" for tiger.

he signed an incorrect scorecard. period. DQ.

so unless you drop in your divot you're cheating?

a lot of drops will roll back into your original divot if dropped correctly, so yes

Retroactively adding a penalty after clearing him is bs anyways. When he signed the scorecard it was correct.

Is rule 33 the tv rule? If it is does not apply here .. I can not believe they used it. by using it here it sets a terrible example. I can not wait for someine to just go out there and cheat like a mutha fricker. If he gets caught just claum the tv rule ..

If rule 33 is the yellow hazard rule IT DOES NOT give an option to DQ.

Actually, if Tiger would've dropped it in his divot, and played the shot, that would've been cheating too. His divot was in front of his original ball position, so dropping it in the divot would've been closer to the hole. If it would've rolled in his divot, he should've redropped.
