Yep, but he's probably the only one that would have been caught doing this crap. Do you honestly think anyone would have called and ratted them out if it had been, say, Rory? No.

Is rule 33 the tv rule? If it is does not apply here .. I can not believe they used it. by using it here it sets a terrible example. I can not wait for someine to just go out there and cheat like a mutha fricker. If he gets caught just claum the tv rule ..

As I've said before, this was the Augusta rules committee going CYA. They fricked up by determining that Tiger acted appropriately without thoroughly investigating by asking him what happened and letting him sign his card when they knew there was an issue. They definitely improperly invoked rule 33-7 to save their own arse. And I agree the precedent is awful.

This.

...and if there is favoritism - and there is - I don't know why people are just cluing into this - sports is entertainment and entertainment is big business. They're not going to DQ the guy everyone is tuning in to see over some ticky-tack. This isn't amateur sports and even amateur sports are now so rife with TV money it's about profit.

CBS isn't paying the Masters X amount of dollars to showcase people not named Tiger. Lawsuit.

yes, they get hundreds of calls each week on players that you've never heard of, however, they should not have cited rule 33 because it was tigers comments after the round that led to his 2 stroke penalty that should have been a DQ

I really dont either but in golf historically it falls on the player. this time tiger admitted to cheating thus not signing a correct scorecard and not only did he not WD or get DQ like he should have he us allowed to continue to play. Im telling you its like the WWE

If Tiger finishes more than 2 strokes off the lead will, people be upset with how much of their lives they wasted talking about something that ended up not mattering at all?

Enough with the WWE stuff. And Palmer was involved in a rules controversy. His ball was embedded and the official didn't give him the relief he thought he entitled to. Palmer made double bogey, then decided to drop as he felt he was entitled to and made par with a second ball. They ended up counting the 2nd score and Palmer won. Venturi claimed that Palmer could play a 2nd ball, but he had to do so concurrently with the first and announce that is what he was doing.
