While I agree that likely to happen I was very surprised with this

Right. Sandusky didn't become a predator 13 years ago. This guy played for Paterno and coached with him for more than 3 decades. I would be shocked if Paterno hasn't known about this for a long time. Sandusky was caught, publicly, molesting boys at least 4 times in the last 13 years. I can almost gaurantee that he was caught other times as well. He seems very careless with his raping.

Why? He's a POS (along with the others that knew) that becasue of their inaction, allowed other kids to be raped.

It's actually about 30 percent for/70 percent against locally where I am. There are plenty of people here who want him to step down.

I wonder if the BOT not already making a move to fire him sooner has anything to do with legal/civil reasons?

I would assume that Paterno was immune the minute he "reported" it to his superior, basically passing the buck and protecting himself from getting fired for cause

There is likely some due process he is entitled to under his contract or the University's employment guidelines. In that event, his firing will be termed "administrative leave" until they are able to conduct the investigation and give Joe due process.

They will also try to let Paterno move up the effective date of his retirement and go out on his own. Paterno has shrewdly attempted to force them to let him finish the season by releasing his statement this morning.

WOW. You have no f***ing clue do you? Not reporting this to the police and allowing other kids to be raped out weighs anything he has ever done.

How do you side with a POS that could have prevented other children from getting raped? Again you have no F***ing clue.

I can't wait until Saturday:

Reporter from ESPN: Coach Paterno, why didn't you contact the police about Sandusky?
Jo Pa: Guys, I'm only anwering questions about the game.
Reporter from CNN: Coach Paterno, how many young boys were raped after 2002?
Jo Pa: That's not about the game.
Reporter from Fox News: Coach Paterno, did you ever ask Sandusky if he raped young boys?
Jo Pa: But, but, but...

It's all easy to conclude in retrospect.

Fact is, he did what was legally expected of him. And there are no facts out at this point that say he knowingly let Sandusky rape little kids on campus, or that he was involved in a cover up. Until that comes out, and it likely wont be soon, he at least deserved to coach 1 more game at home before being sent off. They gave him the rest of the season, which i dont agree with. But he deserved 1 more game. Get off your high horse.

No. You people act as if Joe Paterno raped children.

You're angry at the world because its an emotional issue. Once you take a deep breath and put down your pitchfork, you'll realize that Paterno did exactly what he was supposed to do.

In a world where many coaches would tell the GA "not to worry about it", Paterno contacted administration and brought the story to them.

Now you want to villify Paterno because you don't like the way his bosses handled it???? Ridiculous.

He's an 84 year old man with a SPOTLESS record. He is an American hero. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Regardless, the email address I listed is legit. If you feel that Paterno should go, send them the message. It's a free country and everyone is equally free to be wrong.
