Nah, he deserves HOF, as well as Pete Rose.
A gifted player who performed at his level shouldn't be penalized for not accepting less production/attention than guys like Sosa and McGwire.
He was putting up MVP type numbers prior to steroid use. Why should he sit back and let others outperform him, when he damn well knew he could do it even better.
I don't care for him personally, but it doesn't change my mind about his talent.

Leyland is in no way racist. Almost every player who played no for him said Jim was the best manager they ever had...white, black, Latin, asian.
Jim was just old school and demanded the best from his guys and didn’t take any shite. And he would always have his players backs in a game.

I saw Wally Backman managing the New Britain Bees a couple of years ago. Dude was smoking in the dugout. He didn’t give a shite.
