it's not about liking or disliking a decision. he made a decision that was very wrong in terms of statistics
again, i'll use the poker analogy. you can push all in while behind in a hand with 5 outs, because this is a free country. hell you may even hit (you will win slightly better than 1 in 10 hands), but that doesn't make it the rational decision.
