You go for it from the 1.

Today: down 11, two minutes to go and two TOs. Down at the 1. 4th and goal at the 1.
They went for it, didn't get it.
Was it the right call or do you kick a FG and make it a one possession game?
right call... you got to get that touchdown at the 1... what was the play call?
i'll have to start posting these threads when coaches make what we think is the right call... we unfairly bash coaches on here for one wrong call when they're right pretty often

He made the right call on that specific play. If you play for the field goal, then you have to go ~80 yards again (or recover an onside) And you are banking on getting a two point conversation for a tie.
Going for it there was a good call.

yeah you go for it at the 1
you don't need as much yardage after to get the fg.. that would be your best opportunity to get the TD

I'll try explaining it like this. Kicking the field goal says, I know I need a touchdown but I'm going to not try this possession, and then hope I get another possession so I can try it then. It's giving up one chance in the hopes you'll get another. Compounding the stupid was the spot of the ball.
