What resources do they really have these days? You clearly need financial support to get these high end players. UCLA doesn't seem to have much of that with respect to athletics these days
Dude, UCLA is one of the few schools - count them on one hand - that can support ALL sports and fulfill Title IX obligations.
They fund all men's sports and all women's sports from basketball to rowing to fricking gymnastics and beach Volleyball.
They aren't cash poor.
And they have renovated Pauley Pavilion in the last 10 years.
UCLA has more National Championships than any school in the Nation at 116 NCAA titles.
So yeah, they aren't a sports program in demise.

Arizona recruiting?
Also, your premise is false.
Rivals says there are lots of five stars in socal.
Keeping them is the trick.
North Jersey produces great players. They go to Duke, unc, Notre Dame, Mich.

Sounding like Jamie Dixon to UCLA
Is he a better coach than Ben Howland?
Posted on 4/3/19 at 7:50 pm to L.A.
i dont think hes better than when howland arrived but we will see i guess. the question is, is he better than alford? and that answer is unequivocally yes. jamie dixon can win at UCLA and win BIG. but thats not saying much cause there really is not a high threshold of competency to win big at UCLA. especially in severely weak pac 12. UCLA should compete for the pac 12 championship next year depending on the attrition with a semi competent coach

Alford recruited well. He regularly pulled McDonald's AA's. He just was a poor coach.
If UCLA could blend his recruiting with decent coaching, they'll be good again. It is an easy school to recruit to.

Solid hire if true. UCLA and Arizona should be pulling that west coast talent

As long as it’s not Will Wade

Yeah and look at Pitt now without him.
Dixon is a very good coach and ucla can't get the premier names anymore

Hire Pitino and be done with it

Our 9.95 guy thinks this fell through for a good reason for UCLA. We will see

Dixon’s $8-million buyout at Texas Chrisian became an insurmountable sticking point for both sides, according to multiple people close to the situation, with the Horned Frogs unwilling to lower the amount and the Bruins unwilling to pay it even after identifying Dixon as their top candidate as part of a lengthy search.
Posted on 4/5/19 at 10:24 pm to UltimateHog
Wasserman is on board with this search. Hes the one who was the main financial force behind paying moras buy out last fall. He would have been involved in making it happen if it needed to be done

So does this make Mick Cronin the favorite?
Posted on 4/5/19 at 11:28 pm to WestCoastAg
is it true ucla flies commercially?
