This melt is easily going to be the most enjoyable thing I will read today:

quote:

After fouling out in a 111-106 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, James Harden declared that referee Scott Foster "for sure" has a "personal" issue with the Houston Rockets and should not be allowed to officiate any more of their games.

quote:

Harden was called for four offensive fouls in the loss Thursday at Staples Center, including the call that disqualified him from the game with 1:24 left and the Rockets trailing by six points. That call was made by referee Michael Smith, but it was Foster, the crew chief, who was the target of Harden's wrath.

quote:

"Scott Foster, man. I never really talk about officiating or anything like that, but just rude and arrogant," said Harden, who finished with 30 points to extend his streak of 30-point performances to 32 games, the second longest in NBA history. "I mean, you aren't able to talk to him throughout the course of the game, and it's like, how do you build that relationship with officials? And it's not even that call [on the sixth foul]. It's just who he is on that floor.

"It's pretty frustrating. And I'm probably going to get hit [with a fine], but honestly, I don't really say anything. I'm a pretty quiet guy, to myself, but it's one of those things where you can't voice your opinion. You can't have a conversation with someone that's officiating the game. You're getting a tech. It's pretty sad."

quote:

In addition, Foster was the crew chief the last time that Harden fouled out, in a Dec. 22, 2017 loss to the LA Clippers.

What’s arrogant is the guy who gets the most call in the league complaining about the refs

Given how the NBA let's their star players run wild, it won't be long until they get to pick their own officials.

They already get to pick their own coaches, own teams, and own teammates.

He’s fouled out twice in the last year and a half and Foster has been on the court both times?

Warranted gripe.

Let them call their own fouls.

I’d actually pay to watch all these idiots fight over the preferential calls they want.

Maybe Foster just doesn’t fall for Hardens bitch arse play style?

I don’t know what that has to do with offensive fouls, but ok.

I can’t decide if most folks don’t like Harden just to hate or because Rockets/Boom. I go back and forth on that one

No it’s because of his playstyle. He’s by far one of the least like players in the league among fans.

Fans hate the pussy flopping antics and he’s the king of it.

Well I hope not. What is he going to say

“Yeah I really appreciate the refs not calling any of those travels tonight”

I’m not a Harden fan, but when has a superstar been called for 4 offensive fouls?

I'd be more interested in seeing how many games Foster officiated in which Harden did not foul out in that year and a half.

I personally like watching Harden play, but this is soyboy behavior.

At least 10x a game, he plows into the defender and flails. It's not all that surprising it happened to him.

I nearly crashed my car when I heard the clip on the way to work. I knew the MSB would be loving it.

They should give Harden 30 foul shots before every game. It would definitely help with the flow of the game. Watching his games is not enjoyable with all the bs fouls.

Scott Foster is personally ruining the "Sleepwalk to 50" theme of this year's Rockets season.

Did I insinuate it was? Just pointing out the facts behind his statement.

Pretty clear why he made it. I may not have read the whole quote, but he seems like he is bitching about Foster singularly, not refs in general
