Why is Harden allowed to use his forearm to push off defenders and then step back without an offensive foul being called? Or when he drives the lane he intentionally drives into the chest of the defender and pushes them back with his forearms and shoulders thus resulting in a blocking foul. It seems egregious to me but multiple times this occurred last night and there were no offensive fouls called from the little I watched.

You have just described every single game James Harden plays. It’s unwatchable.

You didn’t mention when he jumps into the arm of a defender who is just standing there on a 3 attempt to draw a foul and get 3 free throws

The refs bailing him out every single time ruins how great a player Harden really is. They need to swallow the whistle and let the guy work.

Last night he had 18 free throws. The other 21 players that played had 24 combined. That’s crazy

17/18 FT

Easy for Harden to score 35+.

Make 17 FT's, 17pts
Make a couple layups driving to the basket.

MVP
but he doesn't average 20 3s per game, and isn't shooting 25% from the 3...

Harden can't even break 44% from the field or 38% from 3. He's a slightly better version of Melo. Just a volume scorer that can't win in the playoffs

the ref missed the call on that one yes. Ref miss calls all the time. That’s the same steps that steph did and got mad when they called him for it Bc he doesn’t have the footwork down like hardwn does.

A hardwn lead offense is an all time great offense. No matter who is out there with him. Don’t let the shooting % fool ya that is a very low hoops iq way of looking at these kinda things.

Yes, 3 rings later the Warriors are worried about a guy who chokes in the playoffs

People in here are such dorks. It's fun to get jokes off, but imagine downplaying Harden's night because he shot a lot of free throws. He shot above 50% from the field and shot 40% from three. Guy is absolutely killing it right now and the definitive choice for MVP.

That's gold coming from a guy that refuses to watch his team when they're playing poorly. You're just a bandwagon fan, not a real hoops fan.

I guess you can say Jordan played the game at a higher level offensively. But you can’t really point to anyone else In the modern era. the combo of high volume and high efficiency is something the league has never seen. Oh and he is getting better. Is there any doubt that next year he will add something else to his game to make him even better? Not to me there isn’t.

You are low iq. Go play somewhere Bubba only someone who doesn’t have a clue what they are talking about would use fg% to disparage hardwn. It would be like using batting average v Barry bonds when he is getting Walked 300 times a year. Clear sign of someone who don’t know what they are looking at.

watch his points scored. Nobody plays defense on him anymore because they're afraid of being called for a foul. It's fricking disgusting.

If your a fan of basketball what Hardin is doing is amazing 17 games in a row over 30 points. He plays guard and shots mostly from outside. People complain about the free throws. He still has to make them.

The years Bonds walked over 198 times, he batted .370 and .360. Terrible analogy by a bandwagoner.

This is more than one good game. What he's doing is historical.
This is the type of stuff that he HAS to do to keep his name in the ring(of greats).

He has simply choked his arse off too many times when it mattered.

And really, I wouldn't have made this thread, except for the fact that there was a thread literally yesterday shitting on him for going 1 of 17 from 3 and losing to Orlando.
Yeah, because 1-17 from 3 in a game is just as shocking as the great run that he's on.

That's pure insanity.

I know Rockets fans find it hilarious that so many of us hate this. And I don't blame them for having fun with it.

But it's insane. And I find it extremely hard to believe that they can't at least budge a little bit on how ridiculous it is.

Nobody uses field goal percentage anymore because it’s an incomplete statistic. If you are still using FG%, you put your lack of knowledge on display for everyone to see. By the way, those are respectable percentages even using those stats.

True Shooting percentage is what people look at to measure efficiency. And Harden’s TS% is 62%. That is extremely efficient.

Carmelo Anthony’s best TS% for a season is 57.5%. And that’s the year the Knicks won 55 games and were actually good. It’s not a coincidence that they were winning when Carmelo was actually being an efficient scorer. The past 7 seasons, Carmelo’s TS% is 53.8%. That’s not good, and that’s why he’s not a good player. That’s why his teams lose.

And because Harden is so efficient, that’s why his teams win.

He’s not a volume scorer. Carmelo is a volume scorer because he scores points by chucking, efficiency be damned. Harden, however, scores a ton of points efficiently. That’s not a volume scorer. That’s an elite offensive player.

To compare him to Carmelo is completely idiotic.

And Harden has done a lot of winning in the playoffs. He just hasn’t yet won the big one.
