In all my years of watching and analyzing the game of basketball, there is nothing about Harden's game that even implies he's a better defender than Steph hell he's probably worse in many respects. Steph might not be a great defender but he's a smart defender in his ability to make plays and disrupt/compensate almost like Larry Bird would do, can't summarily dismiss him on the court in that respect, just great anticipation. As far as Harden's concerned, I've never seen that dude play a lick of defense, just all offense, maybe I need to pay more attention there.

Although part of my job is to crunch numbers and use stats to make forcasts, I don't need all those "advanced" stats to tell me that Steph is a better defender than Harden. When I see DRPM, DPIPM, DBPM, I'm thinking "WTF is this?". I could look it up and I can understand them if I choose, but I do not need stats to know who's doing what. Harden is terrible on defense, and no stat can convince me otherwise. We all know it to be true.

Kevin has an axe to grind because James got him canned. They havent spoke since Kevin was fired. Coach bickerstaff said the other day that hardwn changed the culture on day 1 in Houston. So that’s the opinion of someone who hasn’t been spurned by hardwn.

Oh really he won the mvp last year and will win again this year and only the lowest of the low IQ kinda guys is bringing up that series in regards to his mvp case for either season. Let B guess, you wrote that.

Does this not prove that the NBA regular season is...just for entertainment purposes only. Its like the first 20 laps of an Olympic 10,000m ...people relaxing, some field fillers fall out the back but for the most part, anyone with any amount of talent can lead. Those last 4-6 laps though.

So both opinions are useless.

No I would say JB has credence. Kevin, and I love the guy, is the like guy who talks shite about his girl after she dump him. Scorned lover. Can’t really believe what they say. Nope. They are just hurt. So say things they don’t mean.

I've heard him talk very highly of Harden.

Time heals wounds Bubba. This is real life we talking about. Kevin was mad with James. Said he wasn’t a leader. As time as passed Kevin’s heart has mended and he doesn’t say these things anymore.

without several key players. Give the Rockets some slack.

I'll respect him when he finally duplicates his magnificent regular season performances in critical games of the playoffs to lead his team to victories like a conquering hero in the mold of Magic

played with several all-stars including the all-time leading scorer and multiple mvp Kareem along with perennial all-star James worthy

quote:
Bird

How many all-stars and first ballot hall of famers did he play with?

quote:
LeBron

lol he couldn't do it by himself so he teamed up with the 3rd best player in the world and a top 3 power forward along with some of the best power forward. Then when they got old he went back to Cleveland where they had a top 5 closer and another all-star pf. Funny none of those dudes you mentioned ever did shite without elite teammates. MJ had Pippen but nobody is sitting here saying Harden is MJ.

Its clear you missed the mark of my point, thats fine Harden fanbois are incapable of objective judgment, I'll simplify it for you: the 4 I mentioned are among the most clutch players of all-time and eminently embody winning and the killer instinct (LeBron to a lesser degree though his early Cleveland and Miami years are nothing to sneeze it with all his great performances in the crucial games), Harden's clearly not that otherwise the Rockets don't lose game 6 AT HOME WITHOUT KAWHI 2 years ago and close out the Warriors last year up 3-2, YOU KNOW WHY? BC THATS WHAT KILLERS DO

quote:

How many of them would have pushed the warriors to 7 games last year? Put Bird or Magic in his place, are they getting the same results?

Hell they probably win the series and championship, we're talking about 2 of the fiercest competitors in NBA history, bro, please grow a brain

quote:

LeBron won ONE game in 2 playoff series against the 4 all star warriors and one of those years he had 2 all star side kicks.

He also led the greatest Finals comeback ever against the 73-win team, led the Heat to the 2013 repeat title with that clutch performance in game 7, led the Heat to that first title with that clutch all-time performance in Boston game 6 of the Eastern Finals, not to mention his demolition job of the 62-win Bulls the year prior, etc

Pretty amazing feat, not just to score 57 & 58 in back to back nights.

But 0 of those points were assisted. That is not good for the amount of energy he's exerting nightly for regular season games as well as it can't possibly be good for the team to stand around that much while he makes plays. No #s to back it up, but it can't be good for getting the team into a rhythm during a game.

Not knocking him for it. The team is injured, he's doing what it takes to try and get these Ws, but those 2 things can't be good going forward.
