It's a good thing that we're all NFL defenders and this statement has relevance...

For a QB? Who cares?

it is still one of the many things a scout/coach look at when evaluating a player.

is it the most important? Hell no.

I guess Jamarcus finally got tired of all his "friends" leeching off of him, sipping on the purple drank, and feeling sorry for himself.

still a longshot considering how long he has been out of football and how out of shape he is.

It's a testament to how natural of a talent he really is.

This was my favorite Jamarcus lsu game he killed a pretty damn good UT defense. I wish we would bring back the jimbo bubble screen

I hope he makes it back to a pro league. He could make a good living in Canada if things are not meant to be in the NFL.

I think he could help himself by getting someone like Tony Dungy working with him (on the mental side of things) and lobbying for him.

He has amazing ability...he just needs to get his head screwed down straight and his body will follow suit.

There aren't 30 people walking earth that have the arm he does if/when he gets in shape.

I'm sorry JaMarcus, I'm afraid heavy is your new normal.

How much weight can he lose before April? Not enough, I expect.

Maybe a better target for his pro-day/return would be next April.

Jeff Garcia looks in pretty good shape. i'd give him a better chance of coming back than JR.

I'm pulling for JR, but if he was serious, he'd be a lot closer to 280 lbs than he is. Hell, it would've been better for him to just come up out of nowhere around 280 lbs than to wait this late. He should've been working on this for all of last season.

It's like he woke up one day and just said, "I'm going to go play football again." He's f'ing huge. If he was serious about this, he'd have been preparing for the last 6-9 months and gotten down to 250-275. Seriously, it's not THAT hard. Especially when you don't have a job.

I think he'd be a damn fine specimen if he'd ever get serious and get down to 245.

And I'm saying if he got serious about his diet and conditioning, he could get down to 245 at 6'6"...and he'd have a better chance for success. There aren't many 270 lb QB's in the NFL's long history.
