Holy shite. Shame on the Eagles' medical staff for this.

That’s very scary. How does someone that young and healthy get something as serious as this?
The initial clot was discovered from a calf injury. They call it a superficial blood clot. I had a friend get one of these in his calf in high school from a football injury. His calf swelled up and got red.
He most likely has a systemic issue that is causing the clotting. See Chris Bosh.

Good grief, how was he allowed to play? I’m no doctor, but it seems like if sleeping were too dangerous then playing an NFL game would also be too dangerous.

the original tweet when they announced this tells me someone fricked up here
Sounds like they should have never let him fly back to the States. Apparently flying like that in his situation, can cause issues like blood clots…

Taysom Hill could win the Eagles a super bowl.

This is insane. Potentially career ending

IMO, the travel itself could've caused it when they knew he already had the pre-existing condition with the calf.
these international games are literally going to cause players their careers
not to mention the saints and steelers are in the middle of a warzone right now

The ESPN article has the Eagle's announcement

Two things: did the doctor in London who diagnosed the shallow clot before the game F up big time as it says it was a deep vein thrombosis?
Then, in the mention of the lung problem, thrombosi ..........is plural.
Three months of monitored blood thinners and I'd guess lots of testing to see where else the problems might be?

I haven't been following this terribly closely, when was the superficial clot found? Is it my understanding he was hospitalized for that and then they LET HIM FLY TO frickING LONDON?
Christ.
Christ.

He had been kicked in the leg and they were aware of his condition prior to leaving the states. He got the ultrasound in London and it was discovered Saturday, let him play on Sunday and flew him back knowing he had the clot

Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept.
JFC people should be fired for letting him play like that.
NFL cares about player safety my arse.

Holy shite.
That's one hell of a medical malpractice lawsuit incoming.

Seems to me that the Eagles have been extremely careless with this young man's life.

The joint statement from the Eagles and his agent says he was diagnosed by specialists in London with a left calf superficial thrombosis. So based on that I’m confused as to if there were any knowledge of a clot prior to the Eagles traveling to London.

I’m praying for him that he makes a full recovery and he gets back healthy. I would love to see him back on the field and he is a great guy.

Severe malpractice by the medical staff, I feel awful for Jalen
