It’s obvious that a ton of people haven’t seen Tennis in this thread lol. Her “cheating” was the equivalent of a batter standing out of the box too long and getting called out. Not a normal penalty assessed and obviously she was given far shorter rope than most male players.
That's just not true. She was given what amounts to a verbal warning about the coaching. She then went on a tirade and broke her racquet and then verbally abused the judge. Which by rule racks up two more "warnings". 3 "warnings"= game penalty.
All this shite about her breaking a silly rule that everyone does is garbage. She got 3 warnings because of her actions and lost a game. She should have taken her warning and shut the frick up.

Did you hear her talk about it afterwords, and spin it to "women's rights" ?!?
GTF outta here Serena....Pure trash. Go back to Compton and never be heard from again.

I did. And all these sports media people keep putting the tagline of "Serena, new Mother"... GTFOH with that. She is not the first and wont be the last female athlete who has a kid. That does nothing to bolster or diminish her position of how wrong she was so its nothing but pandering and pointless.

Forgot to mention that I don't think Serena should have mentioned her daughter during the rant but that is only a very minor part of the story.
I keep wondering what she is going to teach her daughter? Don't cheat or cheat and say you never cheated or cheat and if you get caught bring up racism/sexism depending on the situation.

Oh yea minorities get all the advantages in this world.

She cheated or tried too. Everyone is held to a standard why not her. Players in Football get suspended everyday. So tired of the bullshite people that are above the rules Hammer down on Serena!!
You're a fricking idiot. She didn't try to cheat. And even if she did, every player does the same shite.
She lost a game in a final.

She was never going to win anyway. It just sped up the inevitable.

Male former Tennis players Andy Roddick and James Blake among others are supporting Williams assertion.
Most tennis players are little entitled bitches. Men and women. They all feel like they are above the game and the tournaments and officials at the events should bend the knee to them.
One of the players could kill a person in the stands and most of the players would take up for the player

That doesn’t mean Serena didn’t act like a spoiled bitch though

Not sure why people can’t understand both sides can be in the wrong....

Everyone has been saying “men aren’t penalized for the same actions.” Have women also done the same things and not been penalized? Honest question i don’t really watch tennis much.

Rewriting history. John was consistently fined and penalized. He was basically thrown out of a tournament once for his behavior.
Wimbledon didn’t even want to acknowledge his existence after he won there. He was pretty much hated all the way around, and he was nicknamed “Super Brat”. The fact that McEnroe keeps being brought up as some example shows how awful Serena was behaving.
Roddick has said he was too emotional when he first gave his opinion on this. He also admitted to not being objective because he’s basically known Serena since they were kids.
I’m left leaning politically, but I’m also tired of this type of nonsense. The whole “women’s rights” thing only came up because Serena brought it up when she realized she was screwed and was going to lose.
Next thing you know, every article for every major site is talking about how sexist and racist this all was. All the points being made in her defense don’t even make sense.
This woman is a known poor sport with a bad attitude and a history of saying awful shite to lines people and chair umpires, yet is being called a class act who stood up for herself and is fighting for women’s rights. It’s ridiculous.

Even Libitard was having trouble defending her and he badly wanted to and tried, but even he had to qualify the racism and sexism with the gross overreaction given her coach said he was in the wrong.

Of course it is. She’s the one playing for a grand slam title. I’d like to know what the umpire was saying. Did he warn her? “If you don’t stop I will have to take a game!” Something like that. This isn’t some regional WTA event. So him taking a game was bad, but so is badgering and bullying umpires. Which is what she is doing and has done in the past.
I hate the whole “she’s starting a movement” talk. She threw a fit, not a movement.

It is just talk. So much that she even believes it. She has said plenty of times that other than Venus, she is the most respectful woman on tour.
So respectful, she threatened the life of a lines woman doing her job.
That is some serous respect that everyone needs to applaud.
