UConn is a cold blood bball school.

Results say they’re one of the absolute best programs in the modern era. They win big consistently.

They are as much a blue blood as LSU in baseball. Same exact trajectory. Very good regional program until the 80s, and domination from there on..

Oxymoron
Its called Nouveau riche.
If granddaddy didn't see them win titles, it's not blue blood by definition.

What do you call it when everybody that’s seen them win a title is dead?

Is LSU football considered a blue blood?

That's an oxymoron or something, like jumbo shrimp. They are new money, somewhat like Michigan State. You can even make that case for Duke, too, but K was around so long that they seem like a traditional/historical power now.

They have won more basketball championships in the 21st century than any other school. They also won the championship in the last year of the 20th century and are on the verge of winning back to back championships and blowing out every team they have played in the NCAA tournament in back to back years. If that doesn't make them a blue blood then the entire term "blue blood" needs to be disposed of into the landfill of obsolete vocabulary.

They have won as many titles as Duke. And Duke is the supreme blue blood.

Kansas has been to the F4 16x but only has 4 titles. UConn has only been to the F4 6x but has 5 titles. Crazy.

They're about to have 6 national titles. How could they not be?

Still just UCLA 11
Kentucky
North Carolina
Duke
Indiana
Kansas
But UConn will be there soon. They have already had more success than the blue bloods.
It’s like the Chiefs. They are soon to join, but the NFL bloods are: Giants, 49ers, Packers, and Dallas. New England will be considered blue blood soon if they can have success with another coach.

Someone mentioned UConn basketball as equal to LSU baseball, and that's a valid comparison.
The big thing about being a blue blood, you don't get to declare yourself one. You are recognized by others. Hence, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina in basketball. Alabama is a football blueblood, but not because of Nick Saban.
