But Tiger had a better supporting cast than Lebron when he won his majors..oops, my bad. I time-warped to 3 weeks ago.

W's. More so if they are in majors.
I don't think just looking at results is a good way to compare golfers of all things when they played in completely different eras.

You're missing two things. Nerves of steel and the ability to make a lot of players wilt. That's what separates the great ones. You can talk about conditioning and equipment all you want. Either you have it or you don't and most don't.
I understand that. I just think it's harder to have "it" in golf when there are SO many guys who can obliterate a golf course any given week.

I'm not even trying to argue that Tiger is better. I'm trying to argue that Ws absolutely can't be the deciding factor when figuring out who was better between the two. I'm probably doing a bad job of that though.

The ideas I'm throwing out are just that, ideas. Honestly, if we dug all the way to the bottom of it, Jack might come out looking better(I personally don't think that's the case). But the 18 > 14 argument is ridiculous without the proper context. For example, Tiger has won his majors in the midst of global warming! That has to count for something.

Tiger's total wins can't be overlooked though. He's second only go Snead as I recall and is more than a couple ahead of Nicklaus.

I think the answer to this question was presented early on in this thread: Nicklaus had the better career thanks to the longevity of his game, Tiger had the more prolific run for about 12 years and at his peak was better.

The counter to the total wins argument is that Nicklaus was a part time tour player for much of his career. We're really just splitting hairs here.

The fact is Jack was destroying competition that sneer than what that bitch tiger faced.

He was able to dodo the same things with tech that is 40 years behind today.

Jack is the better of the 2 tiger is a non factor. Plus Jacks character on and off the. Ourselves puts Tiger in the garbage. Screw Tiger

Jack is GOAT, but how anyone can say Jack had tougher competition is mind boggling. The amount of people that play pro golf now compared to Jacks era is exponentially higher. Golf reaches every neighborhood and corner of the world now. The reason Jacks era had more people winning multiple majors is because the depth was 1/1000th of what it is today.

That's what I said!

Plus Jack designs all these courses around Tiger's game. Jack Tigerproofs the courses to keep his legacy alive.

Jack is the GOAT.

On a side note for a different thread, I would love to have seen Tiger play on that old school equipment that Jack used.
