After watching Casey Matthews last night for Oregon it looks like this kid might be as good as his brother Clay.
Won't have near the success his brother has in the pros

Doesn't have the size or speed that his brother has

They also play 2 different positions.

He will likely be picked in rounds 3-4, unless someone really wants him.

Is there a bloodline even close to this?

Mannings are a close 2nd, but 5 generations is pretty impressive.

Iron Head and Cameron Heyward
Dawan and Laron Landry
Julius and Thomas Jones
Colquitt Punters
Ochocinco and Keyshawn are cousins, right?

He seems to play just like his brother, almost a can't miss. Im not sure how their size compares.

Casey is a little shorter and I don't think he is as fast although he is pretty quick. Smart as hell too, Oregon was lucky to have him all those years.

Read a story in the cleveland plains dealer about how the Browns should go and get him.

I think the Matthews clan is probaly the best bloodline. Read Bruce Matthews has a kid in 5th grade and he is already 150 pounds and they say he might be the best of the 5 boys he had.

No one has mentioned Tiki and Ronde. I know it's the same generation, but it's closer to the original question than mere cousins and Ronde's still pretty good for a relatively old guy.

Clay Matthews Jr. and Bruce Matthews (HOF) I think are better. Then add in all their boys. In five years there will be like five of em in the NFL.

I wasn't saying the Barbers are better. I was just saying that if we're going to mention Faulk as a blood line, we ought to mention Barber also.

Colquitt punters. Not on Matthews level, but in the next tier discussion.

Craig Colquitt-7 NFL seasons (2 Super Bowl rings, Steelers)
Brother Jimmy Colquitt-Former NFL punter with Seahawks

Son of Craig-Dustin Colquitt-Entering sixth season with Chiefs, All-American at Tennessee
Son of Craig-Britton Colquitt-Broncos starting punter, All SEC at Tennessee

Cousin Jerry Colquitt-QB for Tennessee (drafted by Seahawks)

There is another Colquitt who will be one of the top punters in the nation in 2012 who is likely going to Tennessee. Dustin also has two young sons.

shite, Bruce has another one, Luke, after Jake...they could have more.

On a side note, Bruce is one of the nicest, down to earth guys you'll ever meet. He has all his football money and owns a very lucrative construction company, yet drives a beat up old F150 he's had for 10+ years. A few years ago, to keep himself busy he decided to substitute teach at the high school all his kids went/go to.

It seems like the Zendajas family has had a shitload of kickers in the NFL.

Jake was one of the best offensive linemen in Texas HS football and started for A&M as a true freshman this year. It was pretty neat watching him grow into the roll over the season. You'd have to know what kind of tatters the A&M o-line was in to appreciate the job he did this year.

To think about the freak athleticism of the Matthews family, remember that Luke played QB before he hit his growth spurt and turned into a natural OT.

I agree but not as harshly

I disagree completely. I think he will go to someone in the third. There have been quite a few Ducks drafted in the 2nd, 3rd rounds in the last few years and most of the bosses are happy with their performances. I think the scouts see that and his name will help. Dude isn't the size of his brother but he is smart as hell and can run and play.

I don't think Brothers or Cousins should qualify in this discussion. Only generational i.e. father/sons or grandpa/father/sons.. or Uncle/nephews. You can't really say twins like Ronde and Tiki have a strong bloodline when it's just them.

Oh I know...read about it. Read his fifth grader is 150 lbs and might be the best one out of all 5 boys. Damn....just think of the stories these get to tell when they get together.
