Is the NBA unwatchable?

Between Doris Burke calling games and all of the soft arse fouls called, who can take this game seriously? This is beyond repair. The NBA cup is a desperate attempt. That is failing.

I left it alone for years but I’m finally starting to tune back in. Some great young players that aren’t as annoying as the stars of the preceding generation of the 2010s.
The Magic are an example of a great young team that plays fun basketball and relatively good defense.

It is for normal people. No defense and 10 steps without a dribble, yet no walk called.

I haven’t watched the nba since the Jordan era
I’m definitely not going to listen to some broad call a sporting event.

Sometimes I will watch Shaq & Barkley and don't watch a game. I rarely watch a whole NBA game and Doris Burke sucks. I have never once heard someone say "You know that Doris Burke isn't bad".

A random Wednesday night NHL game is infinitely more entertaining than a high profile NBA game.

If you know nothing about basketball, you probably can watch the NBA. WWE types seem to enjoy it.

It’s not unwatchable, but I I haven’t watched it yet this season. Once football season is over I’ll watch and go to a lot of Nuggets games.

I agree with your assessment but I wouldn’t say for normal people. I think for basketball people we hate watching the things you mentioned and much more. For normal people or modern casuals they don’t mind the mess that passes for what’s supposed to be the highest level of basketball.

Especially so if you are a Pelicans fan.

Men’s NBA or Women’s NBA, or both?

With you on this. I've tried to watch it but it's not as entertaining as it was during mike, Larry and magic era. Players back then would play through injury and being sick. It was all about winning. Players now just want the most money and less time playing. Feel blessed I got to see the golden era of basketball.

Not trading Zion is becoming the most idiotic franchise decision in sports history.

I feel like a couple of years ago, the defense was realllyyyy bad. But, actually watching the games (versus just reading hot takes on twitter) you can see a lot of the guys playing tough defense, but the shot-making on offense is just insane.
Especially compared to some college games, the shot-making in the NBA is really incredible to watch. I know that's not the "cool" opinion nowadays, but it's true.
