All of this.

Saturday night at LSU this week will be like a preseason game.

the college game day planners have been trying to make the games as much like the nfl as they can. and unfortunately, they're doing it.

Just wondering what an NFL game day atmosphere is like.

There are a bunch of valid reasons why I could see a football fan not liking the NFL.

And the ONE you choose is non-parity? This is the dumbest message board I've ever come across.

You are aware that no sport, save maybe soccer, is as unchanging with respect to competitiveness as college football, right?

Probably not even a top 20 football venue in the U.S.

Maybe when they were good, but that was only for a few years

I go with this.
I wouldn't take free tickets to most NFL games, but I watch on TV

On the other hand I would love to spend every weekend at college games around the country but don't watch as much on TV.

Been to 3 Super Bowls and numerous NFL games.

Big-time College is better by a mile.

Depends entirely on what stadium team and matchup you are going to see.

LSU vs. Bama is hard to beat but LSU and Eastern Michigan will be a morgue empty before halftime.

Saints in the Dome when it's rocking or Lambeau for a big game or Seattle...hard to beat for big games too.

I'm not much of a marching band guy (other than LSU's pre-game salute) so that won't sway me.

How is college any different?

Look at the top 10, top 25. They consist of roughly the same teams year in and year out. I think I saw that Oregon dropped from top 25 first time since 2009.

The Superdome is one of the best venues to watch a game.

I agree about this.

I agree. LSU top 5 vs SEC Opponent top 5 is the best atmosphere. However, part of that is because you just don't get that kind of game in the NFL. If you ever stumble into a Monday night game in the dome against a good team and the dome is rocking, it's ALMOST as good as Tiger Stadium. And, it's different. I can see some people preferring it.

I actually prefer going to the Superdome to watch a game over Tiger Stadium, but I would rather watch an LSU game on TV than a Saints game IRL or on TV.

The Superdome is just amazing when it's rocking. I haven't been to a game there since the year after the SB win though.

LA Coliseum and Oakland Coliseum for the NFL were the worst experiences for any sporting event in my lifetime.

Can throw in Candlestick Park into that mix. I am offered suite tickets for every Saints home game and refuse to attend. The only two Saints live games I have been to since Hebert left the team was a defeat to the Browns in the Dome when the Saints LB from the Super Bowl team returned as a Brown and the Saints playoff loss to the 49ers. I would not shed a tear if Al Queda decided to pay a visit to a 49ers home game, that is how bad it was.

Now, having posted the above, I do not miss a LSU game. So, my answer is the atmosphere at a college game is better.

Let me add this, I prefer a venue where alcohol and beer are NOT served in the stadium.

Pro games are college games without the student section. Give me the student section. Would I rather see an LSU versus Florida game at night in Tiger Stadium or Ravens Steelers on a Sunday at 1pm?
College.

he atmosphere in Athens this weekend will be better then any nfl game this year. Nfl sucks a d

and this. Entire small town being taken over by 2 fanbases along with other who are just there to see the circus does not happen in the NFL. The NFL is largely just the home crowd which makes the superdome deafening.

Big time SEC games are unmatched in the NFL. I bet Athens has been jammed with people since Wednesday.

I much prefer college but I do understand why people like the NFL better.

However, talking strictly about atmospheres I really don't see how anyone could even try to make an argument for the NFL. It's not close...at all.

College for me

Pro game is very antiseptic, like a hospital. Just not a great atmosphere in most cities.

Last night sounded like a morgue in Pittsburgh. It's TV timeouts, play and more TV timeouts. Never feel a wave of enthusiasm like you can at a CFB game
