Well, you are forgetting about rebounding, passing, blocks, and defense

You are severely underrating Kareem

If they played in the same era, which is what we're talking about, Shaq is better than Kareem at those things IMO.

Shaq made motherfrickers quit. He manhandled some GREAT centers during his career.

As I mentioned earlier they changed the rules of the game due to Wilt. They never did this for Shaq.

The NBA legalized zone defense because of Shaq.

It was a joke dumbass. The Magics first playoff series win in franchise history was the first round of that playoffs. The Rockets were the defending champions. They had experience poise and were the better team.

I'm the dumbass yet you're posting Shaq's stats from a series that his team lost 0 games to 4. Maybe if Shaq could've held dream under 33 pts/game they would've pulled off a W or 2.

What does a rule change have to do with anything? Charles Barkley had a rule change. Who cares? And it's speculated that zone defense was introduced because of Shaq.

If I had my choice I would take a healthy in his prime Olajuwon over any other center I've seen play.

I might be wrong, but didn't they change the rules about intentional fouls and/or flagrant fouls because of "Hack-A-Shaq"?

I agree with this.

Yes, if you hack-a-Shaq in the last 2 minutes then you get free throws and the ball back.

Although that's a rule change due to Shaq being so bad at free throws And coaches trying to take advantage.

That's all rule changes are. When players or coaches take advantage of a "loophole", or something that makes the game boring, they change the rules.

Im posting Shaqs individual stats from a series in which they were individually matched up on when shaq was in his 3rd year in the league. Both centers played great. Shaq averaged more rebounds assists and blocks before his prime, while Hakeem was at the top of his career yet you want to say Hakeem was better overall.

Those Rockets teams were so much better than the Magic it wasn't funny. Shaq played GREAT in that series against one of the best centers of all time in his prime.

The frick are you talking about? Kobe was nothing those first couple of titles. That was all Shaq. Period.

No. Kobe wasn't good in the first Finals, still had good playoff numbers, and then he was really good in the 2nd title.

If Shaq wouldn't have been a lazy bastard and would have worked on keeping himself in shape in the offseason he would be top 5 or better.

Instead, towards the end of his career he seemed to always use the first month or two of the regular season to get into game shape. This left him with a lot of nagging injuries that could have probably been prevented had he stayed in better shape. Also caused his decline to trend far more sharply than it should have/could have been.

Im basing it off of Shaq going to 6 NBA finals winning 4 NBA championships 3x NBA finals MVP averaging more than Hakeems season high ppg in 5 seasons and in their respective primes Shaq averaged 29.7 pts 13.6 rebounds Hakeem 27.3 11.9

(Shaq 99-00 Hakeem 93-94 or 94-95 either way shaq dominates)

Yea.. An MVP or Title should be a prerequisite for the Top 5 all time conversation.

I don't want to take anything away from Dream, because I have incredible respect for his skill. I just think Shaq was so much more imposing and physically dominant.

Dream had the best footwork for a center ever though. It was poetry.
