Is Pulisic the most overrated soccer player of all time?

Hes tricky with the ball when he has space, but outside of that hes terrible. He never had a good look like Balogun got repeatedly.

There’s a reason he’s played for ac Milan and Chelsea.
He’s good.
He’s simply fragile both mentally and physically.

I dont know anything about him except for he did nothing and then injured himself in his biggest game.
But what was he rated? If he was rated as good he is overrated. If he was rated as bad he was properly rated.

American media portrays him as our best player, but he was outplayed by 4 or 5 guys almost every match.

I agree, least he didn't bury his foot in the dirt and give up an easy goal but yes, he sucked.
The whole team played scared with zero physicality the entire game.

Name a better American player since Demspey retired.

Not even close. He was unstoppable in game 1 until hurt. But our team kept ball on offense which allows him to make crafty moves. His game is dictated by our backfield moving the ball up and other players making moves.
He was bad in last game but is used to other role players making moves where he can pass and move himself and get passed back to. Mostly when he got ball our team was stagnant or standing still meaning he had to try and make solo moves and he coughed up ball.
In overseas leagues he plays with others who know how to make good moves allowing ball movement and more chances.
It also goes into our coach only having a 2 year window with players picked by prior coach. You can’t change them all because you only have limited time with team and friendlies. Then the overseas players are limited in how many games they play in the open windows.
If Poch had more time he could’ve developed more continuity with players to better understand strategies and tried different players who might complement our good ones more.
Its never about one player except goalie. Each player has to know tendencies of other players knowing when to push a pass when they are breaking and other nuances.
Pulisic is the least of our worries. Its coaching continuity and time to find proper players.
Our biggest issue was goalie and defense. If our defenders can’t advance ball and our offense isn’t on same page it looks ugly.

Pulisic is a bitch. When your most talented player is a pussy, you aren’t gonna go very far. Love how he needed to skip out on the gold cup to rest up for the World Cup and then promptly gets injured in the first game and is a ghost for the rest of the tournament. And then in the post game he says he’s looking forward to resting up again.
Just an absolute clown. He’s had more load management than any of our other players. He’s lucky the majority of this country doesn’t care about soccer. If he played for any Euro or South American team with an ounce of history and success, the media would crush him relentlessly and he’d probably retire early.

He is, indeed, Soft.
Jack Hughes had teeth knocked out of his mouth, and kept playing to score the game winning goal against Canada in the Olympics. He's a Gold Medal Winner. You think that dude thought about *rest*???
Pulisic lacks every ounce of mental fortitude in order to be a true champion.

Dude has one terrible game and his reputation is tarnished. He played pretty damn well in the WC up until the Belgium waffle game.

There is literally a next messi teenager that plays for Barca every year just to never been seen from again.

Soccer in general is a soft sport.

quote:I do think he is kind of soft and frequently injured but you can’t compare someone losing a tooth to someone having a lower leg injury. No professional athlete is going to leave a game because their tooth got knocked out (assuming it wasn’t a mandibular fracture)

After watching all the WC games, I was thinking about if him playing with such good club teams actually affects his play in a negative way with the national team. He looked out of sorts (passing, lanes not opening up, etc.) not playing with maybe the more talented players he is used to. That being said, I know he was injured a bit, but he also seems to not have much dog in him. Just my amateur observation.
Edit: Just saw OU Guy brought this up as well.
