PG's who can get playmakers looks aren't rare.

Is it insane to think the Lakers might assemble a team where Lonzo isn't the best player over the next few seasons?
How many players in the league are transcendent basketball players? That's an insanely rare attribute. Not really sure if the Lakers can just go get one of those.

there are all of these players getting triple doubles 20 games into their career

And what's the need for your PG to grab 16 boards? I feel like it's the same thing as a safety getting 16 tackles.

WHAT??!?!?!?!?!! lonzo getting 16 rebounds is so incredibly helpful because hes such a good passer that it makes it so easy for the lakers to gain an advantage on their possession by quickly and effectively getting an outlet out down the floor. how can you even ask that question with a straight face?
quote:

Do you really want that?
yes. i want my best passer on the team to grab 16 rebounds
quote:

And is that even THAT noteworthy?

there are all of these point guards grabbing 16 rebounds
quote:

How'd he get 16 rebounds?

because he crashes the boards and no matter what people want to say, he has enough athleticism to go and get the ball

Neither triple double keeps him from sucking arse so far this season.

Why doesn't Lebron go get that many rebounds? Clearly he's capable. Is he being detrimental to his team by not being as good of a rebounder as Lonzo Ball?

1. MSB is making an indictment of Ball's career less than 20 games into the season.

2. Point guards often struggle in their rookie season

3. It took Mike Conley 3-4 years, and Memphis almost giving up on him and look at him now. Almost every point guard not named CP3 has struggled their firat couple of years.

Maybe we should give the kid a chance to get use to the speed of the NBA game. He has shown the skills to make you believe he can play at a high level. He is already an elite passer, excellent rebounder for his position, and a good shot blocker for a point.

Maybe i’d be more impressed with the triple double if Lonzo didn’t look like absolute dogshit in his other games. He has way more awful games than good games this season.

Being benched in 2 straight 4th quarters and putting up stat lines like 2/5/2 on 10% shooting puts a cloud over his 11 point triple double. On a bad team, with limited talent, you’d want him to either score more, or be more efficient at scoring the few points he does score.

Reauxl, buddy you are so blinded by hate that you aren’t seeing this clearly and objectively. As a Point Guard you have the ability to control the game in other ways than just shooting. Pace, assist, defense, rebounding, and taking care of the basketball. Yeah his shooting is lackluster so far but he’s doing so many other things that most 20 year old PG’s probably do not have the ability to do.

Just judge him against his peers. Is a guy like Fox controlling the game like Ball does? We haven’t seen Fultz but I can tell you he won’t be able to do what Ball does because Simmons is the primary ball handler. I’m just saying Lonzo is not as bad as everyone thinks he is.

You’re saying he’s a bad player because he can’t shoot. I’m saying he’s has potential to be a great player because he does so much more

I just think in today's game, it really puts a ceiling on your value when you're the primary ball handler and you're as poor a shooter and scorer as Lonzo is. What teams are winning with a guy who has the ball as often as Lonzo, while simultaneously being a horrific scorer and shooter?

Agree with reauxl.

He’s on a bad team, and is supposed to be their best and most talented player- he’s clearly not the best, and maybe not the the most talented.

Averaging 9 points on 30% shooting for a point guard when surrounded by 2 or 3 all star level talents (a la Celtics era rondo) is fine, but on a team as bad as the lakers, he should be setting himself apart, and he’s not.

I couldn't hate him if I tried. He's done nothing for anyone to hate him. I'd basically be hating a dude who acts normal as hell.

Lakers games will not matter this season. Shall not sniff 8th seed.

The kid cannot shoot well. 5 for 13 is meh.
He can pass well and rebound.
Jadon kidd made all D, but lonzo is kidd on offense.

Magic will have someone retool his shot. May actually be dependable in crunch time then.
Meanwhile he's the guy you hope takes the last shot if you are up on lakers by 2 with 4 seconds to go.

MCW's first 5 season averages are probably better than what Lonzo will ever produce

Lonzo already beats MCW's career avgs in most spots and even his career highs other than scoring.

So basically, if Ball gets to about 36% or 37% shooting from the field by the time he's 25, he'll be better than MCW.
