If you're going to be nitpicky with a Rookie on his 2nd triple double at least acknowledge he shot 1 or maybe 2 full / half court heaves this game( I know 1 before the half). Which would give him a slightly more respectable 5-11(1-2 or 1-3 ) from the field. Not a " dominant" performance ,but.......the kid does so many things real well. Impressed with his " D".

Just nice to see him attempt to attack the basket more instead of jacking 6 or 7 3's.

And? Are you saying the game was over in the 2nd quarter? This is the Lakers we're talking about here. The same team that got smoked by the Phoenix Suns.

Hey look, there's 2 players who are WAAAAAAAY better than Lonzo. I wonder if they'll attempt to emulate him as he transcends the game.

Reaux this Lonzo thing is gonna go as poorly for you as any poster’s stance on a particular player ever around here. It’s gonna be ugly. Lonzo is gonna be a all nba kinda guy.

I'm good about eating crow, my man. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

However, I think we have different expectations for him. And how many guards make all pro? 6? Two from 1st 2nd and 3rd team?

ETA: Last year we had Harden, Russ, Curry, IT, Wall, DeRozan.

Harden didn't even make it the year before.

I have no clue how you think Lonzo cracks this list.

Dude. Lonzo was a teenager until three weeks ago. Are you expecting him to put up numbers in his first month in the NBA that Russ is putting up in his prime.

Yep. You are good at that. I always noticed that we have that in common.

I edited my last post.

And Jack, heck no I don't expect that. I just don't see anything from him that hints that he'll ever be in the same universe as those top guys. Has Kyrie even made one of those teams?

so far in November he has had shooting nights of

3-15
3-13
4-15
3-12
3-10
1-9

this is worrisome

Great passer, good rebounder, he needs to stop shooting and hurting his team

I'm not arguing he'll make the all NBA team. I think the best version of Lonzo isn't scoring a ton. Obviously I think he has to be more efficient, but I don't think you want Lonzo scoring 27 a game. You're probably better off with him efficiently scoring 15-20 and getting his teammates a ton of open looks. The way you talk about him almost makes it sound like any team that starts him during his career will be worse off because of it.

Not any. But I don't think Lakers fans and top brass want the Lakers to be just any team. This kid is supposed to turn this organization into a champion. Now clearly that's a tall task for anyone, so I wouldn't judge him on that.

The thing about his shooting is he's either going to have to really improve it(which isn't all that easy), or stop shooting, which severely limits his value IMO.

I guess what I'm saying I think his potential moving forward is pretty damn volatile. Think the opposite of Simmons. I feel like we're all pretty comfortable in what his floor is in this league, even though he's not a great shooter. Lonzo's floor scares me.

Had his best performance last night against a short handed Nuggets where he went 5-13.

What do you think these 2 triple doubles mean for his career outlook?

I still think they mean he's a good passer who is a liability when trying to score.

i think they show how he can still have an impact on the game even when he is shooting poorly

I hear you.

But bro, he's always shooting poorly. Clearly you think it'll greatly improve. And it's so bad that yes, it will definitely improve. I guess we'll have to wait and see by how much.
