I have one and will soon have two daughters there. The football players read to to the kindergarteners. It is a nice environment for kids. There’s been a lot of hate on here knocking the schools academics. While I was in school I was in the most academically competitive schools in the state, through post graduate studies, and I can tell you I have nothing negative to say about LCA.

They must not have been too hard on their English program...

If they beat them in the playoffs why didn’t he put that in the post of their record?

Out of the top three seeds in Div 4, they outscored them 145-48 in the three games against them.
That sounds like they were just better than everyone by a big margin

I always hear "they recruit" but that is false. It is the one decent school in the area. Kids from Rayne, Church Point, Jennings and few other places go there.I started there Jr/Sr year on defense, wasn't recruited. There is a long line of families that go through the school, too; Hensgens, Casanovas, Bourgious, Leonards, etc etc. A very elite conditioning/workout program. When I was there it was a combination of LSU/Texas I believe, for Summer workouts and spring. And the coaching is top notch. We'd have 15-30 page scouting reports for the opponent each week.
The thing is, when you have a historic program like Notre Dame, you don’t have to recruit. Kids will want to go to Notre Dame just because of the name and the history there. Not knocking on Notre Dame at all because they seem to be one of the good private schools that do things the right way

Thank you. Honestly, it's 90% great coaching plus kids with a good work ethic.

I can’t believe someone can put how they don’t recruit. They not only recruit, they don’t even hide it. So if you are going to say they don’t, either you are in denial or just have no clue what goes on there. Why do you think they went and hired Trev a few years ago, because his resume? Get real because his connections and being a LSU/NFL guy.
It not only happens in football, for example even girls basketball is full of it. The Public School 4A and state winner that year St.martinville high transfers her senior year to LCA. And she was the finals MVP for SMHS so not like she wasn’t playing. Even had the girl Abrams from STM who transferred to LCA a couple years ago, only was one of the best players in state. I guess this all a coincidence.
So basically it’s a house of cards and the school has changed. Was a good environment but now all the athletes being brought in has changed and basically turned into a public school. Even this year for football they have around 10+ players sitting out this next season and doubt these people paying full tuition. So it will all add up but should experience some decent years.

Central catholic is confusing to me. Minton is a phenomenal coach.

hey have. They have a great program there. I can't understand though how they are doing that in Crowley of all places.
The city of Crowley actually has a long history of football success. Crowley High was really good in the 80s. The key here is that Cook is the centerpiece of that success. He took Crowley High to the dome years again and then went to ND and built an athletic department powerhouse by requiring parents and kids to be committed to the programs. Students have off season workout quotasto hit in order to play any sport. Additionally, they are the Catholic school for all of Acadia Parish, so anyone who wants their kids to have a Catholic education from Jennings East to Duson, sends their kids to ND.

The academics are a joke. They lost their accreditation, and you hear stories about kids who leave LCA to go to average public schools and they're way behind academically because the school really doesn't give a frick about non-football and basketball players.

Isn't trev and his staff not even school employees and they have like the music teacher listed on the record as the coach?

Correct. Trev is not an employee of the school. He just coaches football. The “coach” is just a paper coach, which is obvious when you watch his ost game interviews.
Not the strongest school academically.
Ascension Episcopal is a much better school not that far away from LCA.
I heard LCA had 12 transfers sitting out this year.

LCA is also a fairly cheap private school.
Ascension's high school is all the way in Youngsville and it's significantly more expensive, like nearly 5 times more expensive.
