Duke was asking for it, though. They played with fire a lot in the last several games and got burned
Agree. I know Duke did beat Michigan in the regular season but I never thought their peak level was anywhere close to Michigan/Arizona.
The team was basically Cam Boozer. I thought their team last year was way way way better. That’s the team that should have won it all. This years team was gonna lose to IL, or MI/AZ if they didn’t lose today

Young team put into a tough spot.
Hurley definitely coached circles around him, though. He put on a clinic. They went into halftime and completely adjusted and were a whole new team. That's coaching on your feet. It's easy to prep for a team for a couple of days, but in the heat of the moment, the ability being able to pivot and adjust ... that's true coaching to me.
That said, I don't know if he's elite or not, but Schuyher is close...he's able to recruit and build very solid teams.
9/10 of the teams out there would love to have him I'd imagine.

Well yeah. The job isn't totally idiot proof but the Nike infrastructure and basketball media hype machine will keep them supplied with top talent.

They lost in the Elite 8...I mean, tough way to lose, but they aren't Indiana, Kansas, UNC, Kentucky, UCLA ....
He's doing pretty well.

Daddy K’s chosen son.
Riding K’s coat tails is only going to take him so far, he’s going to have to stop choking eventually.
A retard could get to the sweet 16 and elite 8 with the talent he has.

I know he stepped into as good of a situation as there is but three straight EEs. He will be fine.

That was a pathetic collapse. Poorly taught freshman

A player in junior high should know what to do in that situation.

Love by the star freshman, died by them as well.

I don’t know shite about coaching but he’ll win a title eventually over there if he has teams stacked like that.

You're not wrong but neither one of them was at a Mt. Rushmore program.
What are the Mt. Rushmore programs these days? Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky. UConn has done more in 26 years than anybody else, and programs like UCLA and Indiana need a revival. I think the Tourney is a crapshoot. Are we suggesting Boozer didn’t know what to do, or he did but choked? There’s a difference.
A coach that was highly successful at a blue blood but took time to get over the hump was Roy Williams, and he had to go from one to another to win it.

No, he lost the game tonight. Last year I don’t think it was mostly on him but you’re up 17 in the second half with the particular type of team he has, an elite coach would’ve ground UCONN down and won the game.

Arizona hasn’t been to the final 4 since 2001. Let that sink in.
He’s been to the elite 8 2 years in a row. Duke was 27-3 this year. Not a lot of coaches have done that, alone.
Duke lost due to poor coaching today. I agree.
Sheyer was a HS all American. A college all American. As a player. I don’t quite see how anyone can say born on 3rd base. You can say that about Steven Pearl, as an Auburn guy I’ll accept that. He’s still a young guy. I’m sure him and Duke will be fine.
He’s in his 30s. We should probably pump the breaks.

Not to mention Roy was 55 before winning his first. Sheyer is currently 38. Damn good chance he wins one before he is 50.

But the point is he gets tons of talent every year so he’ll likely get some hardware someday even if he doesn’t evolve into an elite coach
