My favorite thing on earth is people not Lebroning.
Lebron is the best 1 on 1 player. There's no argument.
Why aren't you Lebroning?

In the 2016 Finals, LeBron James shot 43 free throws in SEVEN GAMES, the most of any player from either team; the next highest was 10 fewer.*
LeBron also had 166 field goal attempts in 292 minutes. 131 (79%) of those attempts were 2 pointers while 35 (21%) were 3 pointers.
In 3 games, Harden has 49 free throw attempts--already exceeding LeBron's 7 game total. He's played in 109 minutes, with 72 field goal attempts including 42 (58%) 2 pointers and 30 (42%) 3 pointers.
Harden shoots a free throw every 2.2 minutes and for every 1.5 field goal attempts. While LeBron shot a free throw every 6.6 minutes and for every 3.8 field goal attempts.
So despite being a more perimeter oriented player, Harden shoots 2.7 times as many free throws in an equal amount of playing time and 3 times as many free throws on the same amount of field goal attempts.
*Edit: Forgot to add fewer after 10.

1. I said arguably
2. I think a 1 on 1 game between James and LeBron would be really close. Can't underestimate James' strength and ability to get to the rim in a 1 on 1 match up.

I don't know why that is so hard to believe but go ahead and laugh. LeBron may win in the match up of course, he's the best player on the planet. To laugh off James like it wouldn't be close is just stupid though.

How stupid was it to take a contested 3down 2 in a playoff game? It's just sad that guys like Lebron, Harden and Westbrook are the stars the NBA has to choose from now.
Posted on 4/21/17 at 11:48 pm to jsk020
That's because he gets bailed out when taking bad shots by phantom calls.

But I agree it's sad, because unfortunately they can't play forever.

quote:Every single time I see that Lebron made 10+ FTs my first thought is, "eh, his game wasn't as good as I thought."
So 26 not from the line, because for whatever reason we feel like we need to subtract his ft to make stupid points even though elite scorers get to the line close to the same clip.

you could say the same thing about Jordan, who got to the line just as much. So did Wade. So do most elite scorers.
We've been over this. Harden is playing for the foul while the others get fouled trying to score.
It is frustrating because he doesn't need to do it. He's an elite scorer without the ticky tack BS.

Getting fouled is a skill in and of itself, but Harden's is so ridiculously high that it goes beyond that skill. I don't blame him, but I think the refs are probably doing a poor job of actually identifying legitimate fouls.

doesn't. Harden has been fouled on a 3pt attempt more than any TEAM in the NBA this season.
I don't blame him one bit for it, but it's incredibly boring from a viewing perspective.
I normally agree with your opinions on all things NBA, butnto say Harden is boring to watch is a stretch.

Yes. I find him incredibly boring.
Excellent passer, but I fricking hate his scoring game. It's such bush league calls. I get that it's smart, but I want to punch him in the face

I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. He does it all the time and refs have been calling it a shitload this year. You see it now almost at once a game regardless of who is playing and that's with only a few guys really trying to pull it off consistently.
You can bet the NBA is going to look at how they call fouls when players try to go over the top of screens just as they did when the rip through Durant and Wade were always doing became an obvious way to earn cheap FTs that wasn't intended when the rules were made.
