Then you go to how many batted balls he’s had at the line, I’m not sure if that’s a tracked stat or how far back that stat might go to compare against NFL history but that’s just another component to Cam’s game that couldn’t be taught & made him well rounded.

It is tracked as “Passes Defended” the same as if a DB knocked a pass away. FWIW, his passes defended stats are comparable to JJ Watt and are top 10 all time for DL.

Also and this is just my opinion but it appears that Cam is well known and well liked among his peers and the media which definitely helps his case.

This is him compared to the last 3 DEs that were inducted.

Look at the games played. It’s not to take away from what he’s done, but the more he plays the more the lines blur.

He’s a notch below these guys and there will be a group of guys coming up that will cheapen 120sacks because of all the passing in the game now.

Look at the FF’s too. He was just never the game wrecker the other guys were.

Honestly imo the longer he plays, the lower his chances of making HOF. Also weren’t Freeney and Ware pass rush specialists. Cam strength has always been that he was great in all phases to include knocking down passes at the line. I remember looking math a year ago and he had 60 “passes defended” over his career.

Yesterday he passed Freeney on the all time sack list. He's 1/2 a sack behind Derrick Thomas.

He’s played in 68 more games than Derrick Thomas and 19 more than Freeney.

know you are being argumentative, but stats are just one thing they usually go for with these things.

He's very well respected in the NFL for his work in the New Orleans community. That goes a looooooooooooong way in helping, particularly since he has the stats to be up there with the DEs already in the HOF. His career length only helps that argument because the productivity was there for a longer period of time.

Freeney played 16 seasons to Cam's 15 so far. Cam is just an iron man.

Yeah I’d say so. He’s not in that Watt or Donald tier but I can’t think of a reason for him not to be a HOFer

Who is Cam Jordan? That should answer the question.

Guy was suppose to be a 3-4 run clogging end a la Richard Seymour when he came out and now has triple the amount of sacks.

Yeah he only has 1 first team all-pro but he’s been an elite edge setter for a dozen years and he can’t control the fact that his career overlapped with 2 of the top 5 greatest DL ever in Watt and Donald. Not to mention the overlap with miller and Garrett.

If he gets in, he’ll be a senior nominee.

3 All Pros, 8 Pro Bowls, Top 20 in sacks all time and a beast against the run at the same time. Yes he is Canton Bound!

If he played in New York or LA, no doubter. May be tough being in New Orleans. But I bet there are D-linemen with fewer skins on the wall than this in. One of my all time favorite Saints.

He was a good player for a long time. Never the best though.

I don’t think he’s a HOFer but there are some in the HOF that could be argued are not as good as him.

I wouldn’t have a problem either the way

PFR’s HoF monitor has him at 16th amongst all DEs. 14 of the 15 ahead of him are in the Hall and the 15th is JJ Watt. He’s ahead of Allen, Dent, and Haley who are already in the Hall.
