I guess it is a function of not really following the NBA, but did anyone else not realize that Cuban is no longer the majority owner of the Mavs?

No. It was on mainstream news. And all over ESPN when it happened.

Well that makes sense. I was trying to figure out why Cuban would make such a terrible trade.

Nah he sold his majority stake a couple years ago. I guess people don’t realize it because he stills goes to games for the most part

He's banking on Texas will vote yes to legalize gambling. Will never happen, as long as the Baptists are in charge.

Yeah, I still saw that he went to games so didn't realize he sold the stake.

It will happen in the next 3-5 years. Going to be a casino in Irving, where the Mavs are going to move the majority of their operations

Hell, I live in DFW and had no idea. NBA product sucks a fat cock now, so I haven't watched in at least 5 years though.

He still owns a good chunk and was given like a “head of basketball operations” roll of some shite if I remember correctly.

At the time it was assumed this was because he planned on possibly running for president or some other political thing.

Him piggy backing off Kamala and bombing by saying only dumb women like Trump basically ruined his political future though

*inserts free advertising* there’s already a casino in Texas. Come on down to our native owned Naskila casino in between Livingston and Woodvillle.

That’s over, he has no say anymore. He said he still chimes in , but they removed him to his surprise.

I knew about it based in news reports from the time, and I haven’t watched any NBA in years.

I only know because of some clip I saw of him on a podcast. He made it sound like he was promised that he would still play some part in the management after the sale, but then that didn't happen at all.

My first thought this morning is that there would be no way that this would be happening if he still owned the Mavs.

And second was that AD is going to be a horrible fit for the town of Dallas.

I feel like the Baptists in Texas who also like money are tired of seeing the state's gambling dollars drive across the borders to Oklahoma and Louisiana.

I live in DFW, so I knew it. I can see if anyone outside of TX didn’t realize it tho
