Ran track in college, will definitely be watching. One of the few times people actually care about my sport.

Wow I assumed you were gonna play the shitshow angle, but instead you're taking the Olympics are insignificant angle. Interesting

Doubt I'll be too invested in it but I'll be watching for sure.

I nerd out over the more obscure sports. The high dive is certainly amazing. I want to see more handball. The 2008 games were good when you could catch a free stream from NBC on just about every event. 2012 didn't have as much access and I barely watched any of it.

Yes, but if it makes you feel any better I'll be kicking myself the entire time for not being as cool as you.

Came to post the same thing when I saw the thread title. I ran in college as well, but events the US is subpar at, so most don't care about those even at the Olympics.

I actually enjoy watching swimming much more than T&F during trials and the games. I swam year round from 9 until I my junior year in high school and was a good enough breaststroker to swim collegiately at the D2 level.

My dream since age 9 was to swim at Auburn. Before they hired David Marsh, they were one of the worst programs around and thought I had a chance. My coach at the time told me to get a new dream and that I was basically delusional. I thought it was just an a-hole who didn't know shite. That coach was Bob Bowman.

Auburn won a national title a couple of years after that and I kinda saw Bowman was right.

Of course I'll be watching the Olympics. They're awesome.

I'll never understand the people who think it is cool to hate on the Olympics (the actual competition, not all the political/social upheaval surrounding it).

First time I've ever read good enough to swim d2. I'm guessing like freedom this was 1:05 (yards)

Straight from Marsh's wiki bio "Marsh inherited a strong swimming program that was a fixture in the national swimming scene and regularly in the top 20"
Sure they had a couple bad years, but Richard quick used to coach y'all. More importantly my school/team is now the best men's program in the state.
