One week in PGA. 3 of us put 175 entries in the $3 350k tourney. And we aren't even pros. Those guys are flooding it and now they are partnering.

You do realize how much their membership has gone up based on the marketing, right?

To say the marketing is working would be quite the understatement at this point.

I believe just DK had something like 220,000 new people sign up during the 1st week of the season.

There is a simple fix to preventing this from happening again. They should just show the percentage of entries every player is picked in to everybody when u are choosing ur team
That goes against the basic core of the whole process.

how is that info useful though? he played in the other site using data that showed which players were picked up the most? I don't understand how that gives you an advantage since it doesn't affect how the players play. all it is is playing match ups mixed with a lot of luck.
Yea. I mean, I can see him having an advantage, and I can even see why the 2 sites would probably want to make sure these employees aren't playing on each other's sites, but I don't see how or why this would become such a huge scandal.

It's the draft kings commercials that do it for me (with the dudes with the turnaround caps) - I will not play their site.

The fact that only Vinnies from Jersey win had me a little suspicious.

I don't think it's any real scandal but those companies should have a rule against their employees participating. It just seems super shady and stories like this aren't good for business I wouldn't think.

Exxxxxxxxxxxxxactly.

I love gambling but refuse to use either due to them ruining live tv.

Exactly. ESPN does this for fantasy. They could do this for these websites.

Can we all agree that a fair punishment would be to ban all these sites from airing anymore commercials?

I don't want the sites to go down because I firmly believe gambling should be legal, but these commercials should go the way of cigarette commercials.

Non-existent.

If that stuff is posted before lock then u may as well not even play. If u aren't using optimal line ups and putting 100 entries in the bigger events you have -ev. Why even play with -ev? I mean it's bad enough they allow Thursday through Sun and Mon games where you can see pretty much what the ownership will be to about plus minus 10%. The only things that helps the non pros right now is the guessing game the pros are having with who will be owned the most. Like in baseball one night Tehera I think was 55% owned and the people who dodged him won big. He ended up getting like 2 pts. It's a pretty big deal. id bet they give back the entry fees for that tourney.

Heres a good article on it. Almost all his big scores came after he started employment there. Huge advantage.

Is Yahoo getting into this game now? I swear when I put my fantasy lineup in last week I got a pop-up about some daily fantasy cash games they got going now.

I agree that if this is all legal then all sports gambling online should be legal and regulated and their commercials should be treated like cigarette commercials, highly regulated.

Personally, I got a pretty decent system going with a buddy. Well, I don't make any money. He gambles, I don't. It started a couple years ago when he text me to give him a CFB winner one Saturday. I obliged. Pretty soon I was getting a text from him every weekend. I'd give him a game every weekend. I didn't know if he was betting them or not, I didn't really care and didn't really follow the outcome. This season I asked him while we were tailgating if I was any good at this and if he used my picks. He told me I was right about 80% of the time and that he would pass on my picks to his other buddies and they were all cleaning house. That ruined it for me. Ever since then I know what is going on and feel the pressure and my win rate has dropped to about 65%. I only mess with college football since that is what I know and I only cherry pick one or two games a week.

No you stopped picking at 80% because you'd be the best sports bettor in the history of sports bettors if you could sustain that percentage. 57-58% is considered excellent by professional bettors.

Well, I did maintain that average for 2 years, so there is that. 65% is still pretty good, that's good to know.

I'm serious when I say I don't gamble. I just give him one or two picks a week. and have been pretty successful at it, I guess. The way I figure is that is why my pick rate is so good. I don't have money on it, I'm not profiting from it, and I'm not emotional about it. I just watch a lot of college football so when I see big spreads that jump out to me, or ridiculous O/U numbers I seem to pick up on them pretty quick and those are the picks I give him.
