Why do we need to sudden constant change the rules for every sport?
Football/baseball/basketball/Softball etc have been played for 100 years, suddenly 10-15 years ago, we have to changes some of the rules every offseason.

Sounds like you’re part of the “that’s not fair” culture

If an MLB pitcher could make that work, he could pitch everyday
They did in the 1800s. Old Hoss Radbourn.
And back then they could pitch underhand which is why it was possible.

Yes, one of the reasons softball sucks is because the same pitcher can go every day.
If they can’t figure out what the pitcher is bringing to the extent that no one else is pitching, that’s operator error on the hitters. No excuses

I personally love the idea of someone buying a national championship away from Texas.

What’s the opinion on some sort of inning limit per series or some sort of rule? Every sport is different, but an average offense can win it with one player basically going every game. No sour grapes but innings limitation should be looked at. Champions should be best team not best player
Tech is paying her 1.2 Million, I think she can handle her arm getting a little worn.

Hell they should make it to where all 9 players can’t start consecutive games. After all, it’s not fair to put your best players in the field for your games.
Are we playing the game to see who can be the most ignorant?
The difference obviously is the pitcher touches the ball every pitch with a major impact on the game. The other players on the field may only touch it 2-3 times a game. They may get just 3 at bats a game.
If we changed this around and allowed the same batter to hit to start every single inning when 9 are on the field, or have a DH start every inning would we feel the same?
Like I said, I don’t watch softball and don’t have any plans to. I just don’t like a team sport allowing one player to dominate.
You can win a national championship without an all American at QB. With an all American at qb you aren’t guaranteed much without a good team. If you have these dominating softball pitchers there’s a damn good chance you make the World Series. It just doesn’t appeal to me.

Why do you have such large teams then?
Title IX. They have to give equal # of scholarships to women as they do men.

This is stupid. The only reason that an ace in baseball doesn’t pitch every game is that it’s physically not possible. Why would you want to put an artificial limit on softball, when there is no physical limit?
You might want it just for competitive reasons. It’s a sport. The rules can be whatever we want them to be.

Right. Only a dominant pitcher can essentially break the game.
People only put up with it because it’s not common for a single pitcher to make it virtually impossible for a team to lose.
If that situation became more common, and every game was a 1-0 type of affair because pitching was truly dominant, then there’d be support for setting inning limits.

Also, a baseball coach can put any position player on the mound and pitch, but putting any softball player in to pitch is different.
I was with you until this.
Just because they play baseball doesn't mean they can pitch.
And softball pitchers (well all starters) can leave the game and be substituted back into the game one time. So I am not sure of the comparison you are trying to make.

You completely ignored the QB parallel lol

Apparently you don't know much about softball pitching... I do... my dad and my uncles pitched fastpitch and taught me... I also was the pitching coach on my high school and travel ball teams.
It was much more difficult to learn to pitch in fastpitch than baseball. While throwing overhand puts more strain than underhand, we (including females) are all taught from 6U to throw overhand.
I want to see you go out there and pitch underhanded... and not slow pitch beer league... that's why mens fastpitch is dying...
