Injuries are always the worst in the NFL, makes watching it very boring.
Would like to see them expand the 53 man roster to 70 people so teams could draft and develop more players.
I’m not really interested in watching a QB get signed off the street that has played for 9 teams.

Problem is, there is only a handful of people on the planet that can play as an NFL QB. That’s not going to change even with an expanded roster and you’re not gonna find that many diamonds in the rough. Starting worthy NFL QB’s are unicorns.

Also backup qbs aren't taking any real reps in practice so adding more likely wouldn't help anything.

The last era of QBs knew to take the sack on those plays and then slice the defense the next play or at least survive for another day.

Jameis better get his shite together quick. He was not prepared to play on Monday Night. Having some laughs as QB2 and cashing a check ain't it.

It’s a cycle the NFL created for ratings. So many rules to increase points, promote passing, protect QBs, etc. that the position becomes extremely valuable. Too valuable. Cant win anymore without a good one.
So when one gets injured, season over. I’m guessing they will find a way to make the hit on Dart illegal and the cycle continues.
You used to be able to win a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer, a defense, and a running game.

Yeah he looked woefully unprepared. If I was the coach he wouldn't play again. About the injury situation as it pertains to QBs... what more can they do? They protect them enough to where if they do anymore they will just need to put flags on QBs.

This true. In the 60s & 70s they called it "eating the ball". Even still, in the clip you posted, there was room for Dart to shuffle up in the pocket where he could have still delivered the ball & avoided the hit altogether. Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees were great at that.

I could see the Giants trading the Seahawks for Drew Lock once Darnold comes back. Drew had a great 3 TD game against the Cardinals last week and Drew has been with the Giants organization before back in 2024 before the Seahawks paid him to come back to Seattle.

Something to consider going forward for teams.
A lot of these guys are learning on the fly on how to play the game from the pocket. They lack the ability to feel the pass rush & shuffle slightly to avoid it.

Not going to happen. They will ride with Jameis. He looked horrible last night but I think after extensive work with the first team, he will be serviceable. He looked pretty good in the two games he filled in for Dart last year.

Yea that's why when we say "XXX sucks" as a starting QB in the NFL, we need to realize at worst he is likely top 50 in the entire world.

Unless it's a king's ransom, I don't think they'll do this. It's for the same reason they aren't going to trade the backup center Oluwatimi or RB Emmanuel Wilson.
They are a legit super bowl contender with a wide-open window. They don't want to get caught in a critical match up (late season division/conference games and playoffs) and not have depth at critical positions. Lock can competently run the offense; Milroe can't. Oluwatimi can make all the line calls at Center. None of the other back ups can.
