Honestly, I’d take McCollum over DeVries. It may work out for them just fine.

Hits keep coming for WVU. Should have been In the tournament without their best player for all but 6 games and now they lose an outstanding coach after 1 season.

McCollum would be fine at Iowa but is he their first choice? Their support for basketball is...lacking.

Definitely would take both. Worst case scenario is we miss on both. I think IU overpaid for Devries but that's how it is now. He will have obviously much more resources at IU, than Iowa and much higher expectations. Sounds like he chose $ over his so called "dream job". Can't blame him.

Iowa basketball fans will show up and support the team, but there is som wait and see mode. Fran fatigue was a real thing and before that Lick was a terrible hire.

Go back to the days of Lute Olson, George Raveling, and Dr. Tom Davis and Iowa basketball was pretty dang good. They could be again.

Or maybe they're cursed because of Bruce Pearl snitching to the NCAA when he was an assistant there.

Hope so. State seems to have it figured out.

Interesting. As an Ole Miss fan, I’m happy they didn’t go after Beard but I’m confused why they went with this guy when he’s 0-3 as a head coach in the NCAA tournament. Seems like they should be able to get someone more proven

No wonder the team faded down the stretch- Coach had one foot out the door

Probably.

But I think he (and others) want to see what Texas does. I think they were 100% going to fire Terry if he didn't make the NCAA Tournament. Even that might not be enough to save his job, but Texas isn't going to do anything while the team is still in the tournament.
