Yeah ... no way McHale or Rambis could do better than that tub-o-lard.

Why did his own teammate check him after the foul?

Worthy stopping him from punching out McHale?

The Celtics decided to get physical with the flashy showtime Lakers & take them out of their game . James (and I am sure it was discussed in meetings) was reminding him not to allow them to get in his head & take them away from their style of ball(less physical).

Respect for Rambis too since he was the Lakers poor mans version of Dennis Rodman & they needed him on the floor doing the dirty work & not ejected.

That being said , Frick that! That was an assault not a basketball play.

Even so ... his shot was basically unblockable

kinda true. bird excelled because he released the ball so high - a jump shot wasnt necessary most of the time.

McHale probably has a better low-post game RIGHT NOW

McHale could play today, but im not sure hed be as impactful considering the size and athleticism of current players

I think McHale and Barkley would destroy most big men today.

Yea the amount of human revolution that has occurred since the 80's far outpaces anything the previous 1000 years. Today's players are basically superheroes in comparison.

At least that's what many here believe.

Did you read the whole thing. There were 3 words said: that, scrawny, and clown. Kevin Durant is 2 of those. If Kurt Rambis was 6'10" with a 9'3" standing reach, good athleticism, incredible body control, and a lights out shooter, he'd no doubt be in the NBA.

Did a admin delete part of his post or something? He said nothing of the sort. He said he wouldn't be able to be a set shooter. I'm sure he knows he would adjust.

Not hating on KD. I was making a point that skinny guys are indeed able to make it in the NBA

Doesn't KD outweigh Rambis by like 30 pounds, tho?

Those saying that McHale and Bird would not excel in today's NBA are obviously trolling.

Good one, guys.

And, if by any chance they are not, they are completely wrong.

You are talking about two guys who were 6'11" and 6'9" who could run the floor and dominate inside (McHale) and inside-out (Bird) and were both basically unguardeable. McHale's moves on the post flummoxed everyone. Bird was MUCH quicker than people even then understood.

Kurt Rambis at 6'8 isn't too far off from 6'10. You make it as if Rambis was 6'2 playing power forward.

There are plenty of big men in today's NBA that don't have these qualities but are still able to play at a high level.

Correct. But KD was not 240lbs entering the league and there will always be the infamous combine bench press test (which is an overrated measure), which critics used to question his overall size and strength.
