Romo's insight and enthusiasm is John Madden-esque.

All we need now is for Romo to star in a light beer commercial, crashing through the background at the end, saying, "And another thing!," and the succession will be complete.

Phil Simms' voice is like Eli Manning's face, can't stand him

Yes it is. It's nice to hear genuine enthusiasm for the game as opposed to the fake manufactured crap that Tess spews on MNF.

Romo is solid...he can get on my nerves at times but he's not an arrogant tool like Gary Danielson and he isn't pure shite like Witten lol

I actually think Ronde Barber (not tiki who sucks) is very good but he's always on shitty games. I like guys like him and Todd Blackledge, who don't try to do too much and just naturally add commentary.

Romo is really good at calling games. He's so much better than that frick stick POS Phil Simms and it's not even close.

Romo is fine, but his constant insertion of what he would do or what they should do (in his opinion) is keeping him from being really good.

I mean dude you were just in the league for like a decade and won one or two playoff games, pretty obvious you don't have the answers.

He's fantastic in the booth.

That's what makes him interesting. All those guys think very similarly. Knowing what to do and having the talent to actually do it are two different things. You get insight into what is probably going through the heads of the coaches and players.

Does he say too much sometimes, maybe, but it's infinitely better than some waterhead up there repeating what's essentially coach speak

Funny thing is so many folks complain about boring/brain dead/obvious commentary, then turn around and bellyache when Romo actually imparts knowledge about the game during the broadcast.

I enjoyed listening to Romo today. I’m always interested to hear what he has to say, and that takes talent.

In fact, the entire CBS production was great- except for that cricket chirp noise they do every time they cut away from a replay. WTF is that, seriously.

I don’t get the joe buck hate so many people have. Aikman just sounds like he’s had a thousand concussions though. I enjoy romo and the Sunday night crew too. MNF is tough to get through this year with the weird halftime music bullshite, and booger vs witten fighting for air time

It's obvious he literally playing the game in his head as he broadcasts. I personally love it. Knowing what a QB is looking at or what they're missing.
Yes, granted he's given the benefit of hindsight but he never waffles and will often blame the QB.

I for one like the fresh and honest approach.

"Ohhhh man! They got Gronk in single coverage! This should be the big shot!"

... Sony Michel runs up the middle for 3 yards

Every play is called as if it's a 90 yard pick six to win the game as time expires.

2 yard gain on a running play or 5 yard loss on a sack...it's the exact same

It'll be interesting to see what ESPN does with the current MNF crew. Tess is terrible and should be replaced, but would they cut ties with Witten after just one season? And the whole Booger on the field thing needs to end.

This is something that he will develop after more time in the booth imo
