Especially being from the Bank, and a legend in NOLA HS sports. He should flash the ring, and Alberts should give him a chance. Nebraska is a legendary program, and I hate to see a legendary program go in the toilet. I'm rooting for him.

Watch his press conference. He doesn't sugarcoat anything.

If he doesn't get it, Nebraska should call Turner Gill.

You don't want them sniffing around your coach.

Imagine if Nebraska upsets Oklahoma this week, then goes on a run and Nebraska only loses a game or two the rest of the season?

Other than OU and Michigan, their schedule is easy with a bunch of winnable games. It’s going to get interesting in Lincoln if Joseph wins a bunch of games and can beat either OU or Michigan. They will face pressure from players, media, and fans to give him the job.

He doesn't have much work.

Just needs to fire the entire defensive coaching staff and get some halfway decent coach for that side. The defense is horrible. The offense does enough to win a few games.

Their sights are much higher than Mickey Joseph. They need a proven head coach, not a career assistant. I’m think PJ Fleck will get a call. Who knows, maybe a John Gruden type who is proven but has a wart or two.

If Mickey can get them to a bowl then he will be given a serious look. That won’t be easy though. Their defense stinks and the current DC was a Frost guy from UCF. He very well could just tank the rest of the season.

If MJ is hired as the new HC, I hope he can somehow lure his brother to be the DC, and maybe bring in Ed O as recruiting coordinator.

As for Fleck, he’s not a target. I’ve seen the short list of candidates and he’s not being considered. Two names I already know that have been contacted (and expressed mutual interest) are Matt Campbell and Jamey Chadwell. I think Rhule is high on the list as well; just waiting to see what happens to him in Carolina. A lot of fans want Meyer and he’s hinted that he would listen, but Alberts wants someone clean-cut with a lot of integrity to match the conservatism of Nebraska, and Urb doesn’t fit that mold.

He was a head coach for 13 seasons, had 5 or more losses in 12 of them.
Went 31-55 in FBS, 1-13 big 12 conference record.

Why would matt campbell leave iowa state for nebraska?

Could've had much, much better jobs last yr.

No idea, but word is that feelers were sent out and he expressed mutual interest. I personally wouldn’t want him, anyway.

Fleck would be a good get but that might not be a big enough jump for him.
