If you were a football coach, what would be your ideal G5 school?

Taking into account resources, fan support, school commitment to the program, etc. For me I have always liked Colorado State. They have been down for a while, but Lubick had that program rolling for a good while. When they are good they seem to have terrific fan support. The location is beautiful and the school invested in the program with the new stadium being a great example.

East Carolina. Good football culture and they've had success in the past. I think their stadium is almost 60k.

Easy admission standards so you can bring in some questionable character guys to win.

As much as I love Nebraska, I wouldn't take that job ever. Tough to recruit, terrible weather in the last half of the season, not much to do being so far from KC and Denver.

Give me the UCLA job and an endless recruiting budget - I still don't understand how they arent running the PAC.

Pretty much any in Texas or Florida. You could scoop up all the talent the big schools pass on, get the guys that transfer out of those schools, and then maybe take one of "questionable" character, and you have a solid roster

There are a few programs out there that could and should be making a push for P5 expansion. Cincinnati and UCF are at the top of the list. Cincinnati would be my ideal school. Big school with a great fan base, historic stadium and great in state recruiting.

I love the way Nippert Stadium is at the center of Cincinnati's campus

The way Nippert is built, its extremely loud for a mid sized stadium.

I’d take Houston. They have the location to find high quality recruits and the resources to build to the next level. Just need to get the right people in charge.

Gus laid it out pretty easily when he took the UCF job

70k kids, need a pulse to get in, and they have over 100 D1 recruits within a 3 hour drive.

Newish stadium and great visibility in the last 5 years

Also, season passes to Universal and Disney

Lots of AAC schools fit this answer. Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, Memphis, SMU...all have everything you need to be a consistent winner.

I am going UNLV. It is the major program in the state. The area is booming. Can catch recruiting overflow from the West Coast. Is a destination type location. Boosters are eager for a winner. Basketball team isn't great anymore. Play in a NFL stadium. Seems like a good spot..

App State.

They've been multi-time FCS champs within this millennium. Seem to be a program on the upward rise. Cool city and college town to boot, Boone, NC.

Boone is hard as hell to get to and the players are totally isolated. There isn't much to do on the mountain. Almost like living on an island..

Coastal Carolina. Beautiful campus that's 15 minutes from Myrtle Beach.
