I've heard Cowherd with this before, and he prefaces with he likes good teams because good teams are easier to talk about, and it helps that NE and USC are both in very concentrated areas that heavily support the teams.

He also mentions in just about every show about ratings and what people want to talk about. It's better for his show to have NE/Dal Super Bowl than Tampa/Cleveland or LSU/USC rather than Arizona/Hawaii. As far as being loyal to a team, he said today that he's from Seattle. What would've been the point of him being a Sonics fan his whole life and then they leave the city. Sports is a business.

Then he said they might go a combined 28-0 this year.

Since when do the Patriots only play 14 games?
What kind of math is this?

Unless Colin expects USC and New England to be declared champs at the end of their regular seasons

This thread will serve as evidence to support this.

I hate when people spout this bullshite.

Us talking about how awful a person is in a thread does not somehow magically give him money or ratings.

Have you seen the Pats schedule this year? It's not crazy to think they could run the table.

USC has the #1 QB in next year's draft along with with a plethora of talent on offense in a conference with Oregon as the only other good team. Assuming they could go undefeated this season is not ridiculous.

I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but he isn't out of line here.

And to be fair, he was ranting about how fans could be loyal to teams/organizations who were simply clueless on how to run a franchise. He even said he understands loyal fans who cheer for teams that are at least trying.

Also said he likes teams like the Lakers, Yankees, Steelers, Pats, etc... because they are ran properly, intelligently (for the most part) and efficiently.

Again, he can be a tool sometimes, but his statements regarding USC and the Pats aren't ridiculous at all.

Also, he is nowhere near skip bayless in terms of asenine statements and/or trolling.

Pretty sure he was talking regular seasons for both teams.

I like Cowherd and his rationale for talking about the best teams...I say USC has a 25% chance of finishing 14-0, a 25% chance of 13-1 and ac50% chance of 12-1.

That he roots for certain teams is one of the things I like about him.

Sure I have to hear the words: "USC, Sanchez, Matt Barkley...etc" every single day, but if I had a show, people would have to hear my favorites everyday too. I think it makes him authentic.

If it weren't for the horrible afternoon show on espn2 I would be a big fan. That show is always :puke:

I'm confused how he is authentic for only liking teams that are good and lacking true loyalty.

I get sick of him every now and then but I started listening to him in Oregon when he was local and he's always been straightforward with his audience...hell at ESPN, he talked about his divorce to the audience.

So when people say he trolls or that he is just saying stuff for ratings...it's because they don't want to admit what he says might be true or that people actually think that.

He does think what he says, talks about his personal life and tries to be honest with his listeners...people might hate him but when it comes to CFB, he's authentic when talking about it.

no matter how many games USC loses, at the end of the year Kirk Herbstreit will mention that the 2 teams in the national title game do not want to play them right now because they are probably playing better than anyone right now.
