But to be fair, I was in Ruston, so nobody watched NBA except when Malone was on TV.

No
Go back to old style of basketball where you actually had to get hit for a foul. This NBA is too much acting much like soccer. Every player carries the ball to what was the NBA standard. Now they all get away with it. And it’s now about stacking 2-3 teams in the league. Unless someone has a great under a rookie contract or who was traded to them it’s hard for a small market team to compete. Make a rule where no team can have more than two all stars per team unless a third player was under contract before making the all star team, you might actually see a balanced league. But the Warriors I don’t look at them as a dynasty like to past dynasty teams. Just buying big pieces year after year. It’s a lame game now.

It's lame now but the 80s & 90s were ruled by Bird, Magic & Jordan. Makes sense.

The main problem is big market vs small market.
The Lakers have been the worst run organization in the NBA over the last four years yet they are the favorite to win the title because superstars want to play in a big market. Also players really like southern CA and southern FL.
Small market teams make one or two contract mistakes and they are doomed. Solomon Hill with the Pelicans, Nicolas Batum with the Hornets, and Andrew Wiggins with the Timberwolves. These bad contracts have killed those teams.

The only 2 of those I’ve ever seen anything like that are for soccer and baseball. And for different reasons.
Baseball is worried about staying relevant for future generations as their fan base skews older so reaching out to minority communities makes sense as part of that strategy.
For soccer if our national teams is only made up of suburban kids whose parents can afford the pay for play model then we’ll never seriously complete for a World Cup.
Not sure what’s controversial about either of those situations.

The entire segment was on player empowerment as if it is a good thing that these guys get to choose where they want to play. Wish these guys would have to come in work in the real world.
Jealous much?

And what big pieces did they buy outside of KD? Mind you free agency is legal so it was totally within their best interest to better their team if they could.

Why are you obsessed with owners having authority? Are you one?
Nothing more laughable then people who aren't owners bitch and complain about their rights.

Lol sorry you're poor?
Sorry you didn't properly prepare yourself for your future?
Sorry your parents failed you?
Feel better now?

There’s an affinity for owners here. Kind a weird, if you ask me.

I love the idea of player enpowerment. When you have talent, you can command things that others cannot in a capitalist system.
